Connection Overview
Existing 110-volt Maka machine connection → Correct adapter harness → Compatible Mars validator connection
This diagram shows the intended role of an adapter. It does not identify pins, voltages at each terminal, or a wiring procedure.
Why an Adapter Harness Matters
A validator replacement may involve more than removing one unit and installing another. Older vending equipment can use a connector and control method that differ from those on the chosen validator. An adapter harness provides a defined connection path when the machine, interface, and replacement unit are compatible.
It helps keep a planned validator change organized. The harness is not a universal converter. Its use depends on the exact equipment.
- Before ordering, record the machine model, original validator label, replacement validator label, and existing plug shape.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.
Why an Adapter Harness Matters: Quick Review
For this stage of a validator replacement, keep the focus on the actual equipment. A new adapter harness is useful only when its connectors and interface match the installation. Confirm the machine model, the Mars validator version, and the existing Maka connection before making changes.
Understanding the 110-Volt Maka Reference
The product name refers to a 110-volt Maka application. That identifies the older connection arrangement the adapter is intended to address. It does not mean that every terminal on the replacement validator should receive 110 volts.
Power and signal wiring must follow the proper service information for the machine and validator. Never infer a pinout from the product name.
- Compare the original harness and the new harness before power is applied.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

Mars VN2511 Replacement Planning
The Mars VN2511 is the validator model named in this product listing. The harness may be part of a change from a Maka-style installation to a compatible Mars unit.
A model name alone cannot confirm the complete electrical setup. The machine control board and the validator configuration matter as well.
- Read the full validator label and confirm the machine interface.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

Mars VN and VFM Families
The seller also describes the adapter as fitting VN and VFM validators. Those are product families, not a guarantee that every version shares the same wiring.
Units within a family can differ in connectors, control methods, and configuration. Check the actual part rather than relying only on the family name.
- Ask for compatibility help when the existing connector or replacement unit differs from the product image.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

High-Level Harness Description
This item is listed as a high-level harness. That description is important when comparing validator interfaces. High-level, logic, and MDB arrangements should not be treated as interchangeable.
A matching physical plug is not proof that the signals are correct. The interface must also be right for the machine.
- Confirm the expected interface in the machine documentation.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

A Cleaner Replacement Project
A purpose-selected harness can reduce the need to improvise a connection during a repair. It gives the technician a specific part to inspect and match against the machine.
Do not cut, splice, or repin the harness based only on color or connector position. Such changes may damage equipment.
- Keep the original parts until the replacement has been tested.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

Common Reasons to Review a Harness
An operator may review a harness when a validator is being changed, an older connector is no longer suitable, or a previous installation has been altered.
The harness should be chosen after the actual fault and interface are understood. A new harness cannot repair a failed control board or a faulty validator.
- Inspect for loose terminals, damaged insulation, and signs of heat.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

What This Part Does Not Promise
This listing describes an adapter harness. It does not establish universal fit, automatic bill acceptance, a specific pinout, or compatibility with every machine using a Maka validator.
It is not a substitute for the correct power source, machine control signals, or validator programming.
- Check all related parts as one system.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

Identify the Machine Before Ordering
Start with the make and model of the vending machine. Then look for a wiring label or service manual. Machines that appear similar from the outside can use different electrical designs.
Record the connector location and any part numbers printed on the existing harness. This information helps avoid ordering by appearance alone.
- Take clear photos of the original installation before disconnecting it.
- Check the part label and service records.
- Use the approved machine and validator documentation.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
