A Commercial Snack Machine Built for Everyday Vending
A vending machine needs to do more than hold snacks. It needs to provide enough product space for the location while remaining practical for the route operator to fill, organize, price, and service.
The Automatic Products 113 was designed as a full-size commercial snack vending machine. Its large cabinet gives operators room for a broad product mix.
This model has six shelves and a five-wide layout. That gives an operator many ways to organize popular vending products.
Depending on the coil and shelf setup, products may include chips, crackers, cookies, pastries, candy, gum, mints, and other packaged snacks.
A large selection can help an operator serve different customer preferences from one machine.
Good Product Variety
One of the advantages of a full-size snack machine is product variety.
Instead of offering only a few snacks, an operator can create a balanced menu. Different rows can be used for different types of products.
For example:
- Potato chips
- Tortilla chips
- Cookies
- Crackers
- Pastries
- Granola bars
- Protein bars
- Candy bars
- Chewy candy
- Gum
- Mints
- Small packaged snacks
The exact products that fit will depend on package dimensions, coil size, shelf spacing, and the final machine setup.
Always test products before filling an entire selection.
Approximately 30 to 40 Selections
This Automatic Products 113 provides approximately 30 to 40 selections.
The exact number can vary with the shelf and coil configuration.
That selection range gives vending operators plenty of room to test different products.
A location with many employees may need a broad mix of traditional snacks. A smaller office may work better with fewer products and more space dedicated to the best sellers.
The machine can be adjusted around the needs of the location.
Build a Better Product Mix
A good vending menu does not need dozens of completely different products.
Operators can use the available selections strategically.
Popular items may receive multiple selections. Slow sellers can be reduced or removed.
For example, if a certain chip sells quickly, an operator may choose to dedicate two or more selections to that item.
If another product rarely sells, that selection can be replaced with something customers are more likely to buy.
This approach can make a vending machine easier to manage and may reduce unnecessary product waste.
Approximately 300 to 400 Item Capacity
The listed capacity for this machine is approximately 300 to 400 items.
Actual capacity will vary.
Large chip bags take more room than small candy bars. Thick pastries use more space than thin packages. Coil configuration and shelf spacing also affect capacity.
Still, the AP 113 provides the large cabinet size expected from a commercial snack vending machine.
Why Capacity Matters
Capacity can have a major effect on route efficiency.
A machine that holds more products may require fewer emergency restocking trips when placed at a busy account.
The operator can also stock more units of popular items.
This is especially helpful at locations where employees or customers use the vending machine throughout the day.
Examples include manufacturing plants, distribution centers, warehouses, offices, and other workplaces with regular foot traffic.
Six-Shelf Snack Vending Layout
The Automatic Products 113 in this configuration has six shelves.
The shelf system provides space for a wide mix of packaged snacks.
Different shelf areas can be dedicated to different product categories.
Example Shelf Organization
An operator could organize the machine like this:
- Upper shelves: chips and larger bagged snacks
- Middle shelves: cookies, crackers, pastries, and bars
- Candy area: candy bars and smaller packaged products
- Additional selections: gum, mints, granola bars, and other compact snacks
This is only an example.
The final layout should be based on the products being sold and the needs of the vending location.
Five-Wide Snack Machine
The AP 113 is a five-wide snack vending machine.
A five-wide cabinet provides a substantial amount of merchandising space.
This makes the machine useful for locations that need more choices than a compact snack vendor can provide.
The larger format can also help operators create clear product categories.
Customers can quickly scan the display and compare available snacks before making a selection.
Designed for Full-Size Vending Locations
The five-wide design is well suited to commercial locations where a full-size snack machine makes sense.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
