Designed for Commercial Vending
The Automatic Products 122 is made for locations that need a dependable snack vending solution. Its full-size design provides more product space than small countertop machines. The six-shelf layout also makes it easier to organize different snack categories.
Operators can use the available selections for popular products such as:
- Potato chips
- Pretzels
- Crackers
- Cookies
- Candy bars
- Gum and mints
- Pastries
- Other packaged snacks
The one-candy-shelf configuration gives you added flexibility when setting up the machine. You can dedicate space to smaller candy products while using the other shelves for larger snacks.
MDB Multi-Price System
The MDB multi-price system allows different products to have different selling prices. This is useful when your machine carries products with different costs.
For example, a lower-cost candy item can have one price while a larger bag of chips has another. This gives operators more control over product pricing and helps create a better product mix.
Cash Payment Options
The Automatic Products 122 supports common cash payment methods. It includes a three-tube coin system and accepts $1 bills.
These payment features make the machine suitable for many traditional vending locations. Operators can also review the payment setup when deciding which products and prices to offer.
Credit Card Capable
This Automatic Products 122 is credit card capable. However, a credit card reader is not included with the machine. The machine's electronics are compatible with a cashless payment reader that can be purchased separately.
Adding a cashless payment system can give customers another way to pay. This can be useful in locations where customers prefer electronic payments instead of cash.
Before ordering a cashless reader, check compatibility and installation requirements. Additional equipment and installation costs may apply.
DEX Protocol Support
The machine also supports DEX protocol. DEX is commonly used in vending to transfer machine sales and operating data to compatible management systems.
For vending operators with multiple machines, data features can help make route management easier. Depending on the equipment and software used, operators may be able to review sales information and other machine data.
Six-Shelf Product Layout
The six-shelf layout provides room for a broad selection of snacks. The machine can hold approximately 240 to 320 items, depending on product size and shelf configuration.
Product capacity can vary. Large bags and bulky packages use more space than small candy items. Operators should select products based on the size of each selection and the needs of the location.

Potential vending locations include:
- Office buildings

- Warehouses
- Schools and educational facilities

- Auto service centers

- Other high-traffic indoor locations
Before placing a machine, measure the available area. Make sure there is enough room for delivery, installation, customer access, and regular servicing.
Refurbished Commercial Equipment
This Automatic Products 122 is sold as a refurbished vending machine. Refurbished equipment can provide an alternative to purchasing new commercial vending equipment.
For new vending operators, equipment cost is an important part of planning. A refurbished machine can help operators build a vending route while keeping the initial equipment investment lower than some new-machine options.
As with any used or refurbished equipment, inspect the machine and review its specifications before purchase. Product availability and condition can change.
Easy Product Organization
Good product organization can make a vending machine easier to use. Place popular items in easy-to-see selections. Group similar products together when possible.
You can create sections for:
- Chips and salty snacks
- Candy
- Cookies
- Crackers
- Pastries
- Small snack items
Keep labels and prices clear. Check inventory often and replace products before selections become empty.
Maintenance and Daily Operation
Regular maintenance helps keep a vending machine operating properly. Operators should check the machine during routine service visits.
- Inspect product selections.
- Restock low inventory.
- Check the coin system.
- Check the bill acceptor.
- Look for product jams.
- Clean customer-facing surfaces.
- Review pricing labels.
- Check for unusual machine behavior.
Quick attention to common vending issues can help reduce downtime. Operators should use qualified service professionals when repairs require technical work.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
