The Automatic Products Studio 3 snack machine stands out as a premier choice for businesses seeking efficient, versatile, and user-friendly vending solutions. Designed with both operators and consumers in mind, the Studio 3 encapsulates advanced technology, robust build quality, and an array of customizable features that cater to diverse snack vending needs. This article delves into the specifications, features, and advantages of the Ultra Black 5-wide Studio 3 model, highlighting its capabilities and benefits in modern vending environments.
Design and Build
The Studio 3 Ultra Black model boasts a sleek, contemporary design that fits seamlessly into various commercial settings, from office break rooms to public spaces. Its ultra black finish offers a sophisticated look, accentuated by a striking red display that enhances visibility and user interaction. Standing as a 5-wide snack machine, it incorporates six spacious shelves—two dedicated candy shelves—allowing for organized and diverse product placement.
Capacity and Selection
One of the most impressive aspects of the Studio 3 is its ability to offer 30 to 40 selections. This range gives operators flexibility in product assortment, accommodating everything from classic snacks like chips and cookies to healthier options such as granola bars and nuts. The multi-price feature further allows for dynamic pricing structures, ensuring that each selection can be priced according to its cost and demand, maximizing profitability.
Payment System
The Studio 3 is equipped with a sophisticated payment system to streamline transactions and enhance the consumer experience. It includes three coin tubes capable of accepting various coin denominations, ensuring compatibility with different currencies and ease of use for customers. Additionally, it supports $1 bills, providing added convenience for transactions over coin values.
Importantly, this model integrates the DEX Protocol—a crucial feature for operators. DEX (Data Exchange) enables secure communication between the machine and software systems, facilitating remote monitoring of sales data, inventory levels, and machine diagnostics. This capability simplifies maintenance, reduces downtime, and optimizes restocking schedules.
User Interface and Accessibility
The red display on the Studio 3 not only adds aesthetic appeal but also enhances the machine’s user interface. Clear, bright, and easy to read, this display guides users through the purchasing process, showing item codes, prices, and transaction progress. Combined with responsive selection buttons, the interface ensures a smooth and hassle-free buying experience.
Moreover, the SL Model configuration denotes a streamlined layout designed to maximize selling space while maintaining user accessibility. The arrangement of shelves ensures that all items remain visible and reachable, catering to customers with varying physical abilities.
Durability and Maintenance
Built to endure the demands of high-traffic locations, the Studio 3’s construction uses durable materials resistant to wear and tear. The Ultra Black finish is not only visually appealing but also helps conceal minor scuffs and fingerprints, keeping the machine looking pristine over time.
Operators benefit from straightforward maintenance features, including easily removable shelves and accessible components for quick loading and servicing. The inclusion of the DEX Protocol also aids in proactively identifying potential issues before they cause disruptions, thereby extending the machine’s operational lifespan.
Environmental Considerations
While primarily focused on functionality and user convenience, the Studio 3 emphasizes energy efficiency. Its advanced refrigeration and lighting systems consume minimal power without compromising performance, contributing to lower operational costs and reduced environmental impact.
Versatility and Customization
The Studio 3’s modular design permits customization in shelving configurations and product layouts. The two dedicated candy shelves are ideal for small, impulse-buy items, whereas the other four shelves accommodate a wide range of snacks. This versatility allows operators to tailor their offerings based on customer preferences, location demographics, and seasonality.
Conclusion
In summary, the Automatic Products Studio 3 snack machine is a highly effective vending solution characterized by its modern aesthetics, versatile capacity, and advanced technological features. The Ultra Black 5-wide model with six shelves—including two candy-specific shelves—provides a comprehensive platform for delivering a broad selection of snacks priced dynamically to suit market demands.
With its integrated payment system supporting coins and $1 bills, coupled with the innovative DEX Protocol for seamless management, the Studio 3 ensures both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Its durable build, energy-efficient operation, and user-centric design make it an excellent investment for businesses aiming to enhance their vending services.
Choosing the Automatic Products Studio 3 means embracing reliability, convenience, and profitability in snack vending, making it a top contender in today’s competitive vending industry.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned. We no longer sell new for the following reason: According to a recent survey of vending operators about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts do not make enough revenue to warrant the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts. Typical cost on new 'commercial grade' machines run as much as: Can drink $3400-$4800, Snack $3600-$4500, Cold food $7200-$8500, as you can see quite high compared to used or refurbished. Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing, not including sales tax or shipping in some cases. Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge. This can hurt you financially if you are not careful. All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months. There are two main problems with the small mechanical machines. One problem is the machine does not make change or take dollar bills. The second problem is that the machine will 'work you to death'. Most of these machines hold under 100 products and can only gross $40 to $50 at a time, if the entire machine empties out. This is only the gross, the profit is less than 1/2 of that amount. A full size commercial machine on the other hand usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250 to $500. Remember you spend the most time driving to the location so you might as well fill 500 products as soon as 50.
