Product overview
The refurbished Dixie Narco double column yellow and green disk motor is a replacement factory vend motor for compatible soda vending machines. The listing identifies a late frame style assembly, an included switch, and fitment for Dixie Narco 501, 522, and 600 machines. Match the old motor, disk colors, frame, and connector before ordering.
Why the correct motor matters
A vend motor turns the release mechanism during a paid selection. A worn motor or failed switch can stop a column from vending. The right replacement helps restore normal movement. It does not fix every vend problem. Check the wiring, control signals, product setup, and mechanical parts too.
Confirm fit before purchase
Start with the model plate on the machine. Next, inspect the motor you plan to replace. Note the disk colors, motor frame, mounting points, connector, and switch. The machine model alone may not identify every motor variation. Ask for help when any detail differs.
Double column operation
This motor is listed for a double column position. Double column mechanisms use a different product release arrangement than single column positions. Do not substitute a single column motor based only on a similar shape. Check the correct parts information for the exact machine and column.
Late frame style
The product is described as late frame style. Frame shape and mounting details matter. An older assembly may not match even when the machine name is similar. Compare the installed part closely. Never force the frame or connector into place.
Yellow and green disk identification
The yellow and green disk colors are useful visual identifiers. They help you compare this assembly with the motor removed from your machine. Color alone is not a complete part number. Check the full assembly and machine configuration before installation.
Included switch
The listing says this motor includes a switch. A switch may report a position or cycle state to the vending control system. The correct switch type and wiring are important. Inspect the harness and connector for damage before connecting the replacement.
Refurbished value
A refurbished motor offers a way to repair an existing vending machine without replacing the whole unit. Condition and fit matter more than broad claims. Review the seller listing for current price, stock, and any part-specific return or warranty terms.
Symptoms to investigate
A column that does not turn, stops early, makes unusual sounds, or vends poorly may have a motor problem. Similar symptoms can also come from a jam, damaged harness, incorrect product loading, control fault, or worn release parts. Diagnose the cause before ordering.
Basic safety
Unplug the machine before opening electrical covers or removing a motor. Keep hands clear of moving mechanisms. Follow the service manual for your machine. If you are not trained to work on vending equipment, use a qualified service technician.
Removal checklist
Record the original disk position and take clear photos before removing anything. Label connections where needed. Support the assembly while releasing fasteners. Do not pull on wires. Keep removed hardware together and inspect nearby moving parts for wear.
Installation checklist
Compare both motors side by side. Verify the frame, disk colors, switch, connector, and mounting layout. Install the replacement using the machine service instructions. Secure the hardware and route wires away from moving parts. Never bypass a safety device.
Testing after replacement
After reassembly, restore power only when all guards and connections are secure. Run the machine diagnostic or test vend process recommended by its manual. Confirm the correct column operates and releases one intended product. Stop testing if you hear binding or see abnormal movement.
Troubleshooting a no-vend issue
First confirm the machine has power and the selection is enabled. Check for a sold-out condition and visible product jam. Inspect the motor connector with power disconnected. If the fault remains, follow the model-specific diagnostic steps rather than replacing parts at random.
Avoiding jams
Load products in the size and layout supported by the column. Use the correct shims and spacers where required. Avoid crushed containers and loose packaging. Check that the product path is clear. A good motor cannot correct an incorrectly set release mechanism.
Preventive inspection
During routine service, look for loose mounting hardware, damaged insulation, worn connectors, and signs of rubbing. Listen for changes during a normal vend. Keep the mechanism clean and dry. Use lubricants only where the manufacturer directs.
Ordering information
The Vending World listing identifies this part as SKU DNMODNGR. It is described as a refurbished Dixie Narco double column yellow and green disk factory vend motor with switch. Check the current listing before purchase because price and stock can change.
Frequently asked questions
Does it fit every Dixie Narco machine? No. The listing names 501, 522, and 600, but the installed configuration must also match. Is the switch included? The product listing says yes. Is this a single column motor? No. It is listed as a double column motor.
Before you finish the repair
Keep the original motor until the replacement has been tested and the repair is complete. Record the date and the machine location in your service log. Check several normal vend cycles and confirm that the door closes and locks correctly.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
