A Commercial Beverage Machine Built for Everyday Vending
The Dixie Narco 276E is designed for commercial beverage vending. Instead of relying on a small countertop dispenser or a limited-capacity machine, operators get a full-size vending platform capable of holding a large number of beverages.
That capacity can reduce the frequency of restocking. This can be useful for locations with steady beverage sales, particularly where employees, customers, residents, visitors, or guests need convenient access to cold drinks throughout the day.
The 276E also provides seven selections. This gives an operator room to offer a variety of beverages rather than dedicating the entire machine to one product. A typical product mix might include bottled water, soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, flavored beverages, or other compatible products.
The exact product mix should be selected according to the needs of the location. A machine placed in an office may require a different selection strategy than one placed in a gym, apartment complex, recreation facility, or outdoor-oriented business.
Beach Scene Graphics
One of the most noticeable features of this particular machine is its Beach Scene graphics. The machine is listed with a new sign and new side decals, giving the refurbished unit a refreshed visual presentation.
Graphics are an important part of beverage vending. A vending machine is often one of the first things customers see when they enter a break area or service location. A distinctive graphic package can help the machine stand out from plain equipment.
The Beach Scene theme can be a natural fit for locations with a casual, recreational, coastal, hospitality, or outdoor atmosphere. It can also be used anywhere an operator wants a beverage machine with more visual character than a generic cabinet.
The graphics can help communicate that the machine is intended for cold beverages. At the same time, the seven-selection format keeps the customer interface focused and easy to understand.
336+ 12 oz Can Capacity
The Dixie Narco 276E is listed with a capacity of 336+ 12 oz cans. This makes it suitable for locations where beverage demand requires more than a small vending machine can provide.
Stocking capacity is an important factor when selecting vending equipment. A machine that holds more products can potentially allow an operator to make fewer refill trips, depending on sales volume and product mix.
The machine is configured around 12 oz cans. Standard 12 oz cans are common vending products, making the format familiar to many customers.
According to the product information, the 276E platform can also be adjusted for additional beverage formats. Product compatibility and configuration should be confirmed before changing the intended product mix.
Seven Beverage Selections
The seven-selection layout provides operators with flexibility when building a beverage menu. Instead of selling only one or two products, the machine can present several choices in one cabinet.
For example, an operator could dedicate different selections to:
- Cola
- Diet or zero-sugar soft drinks
- Lemon-lime beverages
- Root beer or other flavored soda
- Energy drinks
- Sports drinks
- Water or another popular beverage
This is only an example. Operators should use sales information from their specific location to determine which products deserve the most space.
The multi-price feature also allows different selections to have different prices. This is useful when the wholesale cost of products varies or when certain beverages command different retail prices.
Multi-Price Vending Capability
The multi-price capability gives the operator control over pricing across the machine's selections. Instead of requiring every beverage to have the same price, selections can be configured according to the operator's vending strategy.
Different products can have different acquisition costs. Energy drinks, specialty beverages, water, and traditional soft drinks may not all have the same cost. Multi-price vending provides a way to account for those differences.
Pricing can also vary by location. A machine inside an office may use a different pricing structure than a machine located in a busy public facility.
Operators should always consider product cost, location requirements, local competition, payment processing costs, and other operating expenses when establishing prices.
Accepts Coins and $1 Bills
The Dixie Narco 276E is listed as accepting coins and $1 bills. Supporting traditional cash payments remains useful in locations where customers prefer to pay with physical currency.
Cash acceptance also provides flexibility for operators serving customers who may not use mobile wallets, debit cards, or credit cards.
The machine's payment system is designed to make the purchasing process straightforward. Customers select a beverage, insert the required payment, and receive the selected product when the transaction is completed.
Credit Card Capable
This Dixie Narco 276E is listed as credit-card capable. It is important to understand what that means before ordering.
A credit card reader is not included with the machine by default. The machine's electronics are capable of supporting a compatible cashless payment system, but the actual reader and installation are separate considerations.
Adding a cashless reader can give customers another way to pay. This can be useful in locations where customers frequently expect electronic payment options.
Because payment hardware and processing services can change, operators should confirm compatibility, installation requirements, service availability, and associated costs before adding a cashless payment system.
MDB Compatibility
The 276E is listed with MDB protocol. MDB, or Multi-Drop Bus, is commonly used in vending equipment to allow the vending controller to communicate with payment devices.
MDB compatibility is particularly useful when configuring a machine with compatible payment equipment. It can help make the machine adaptable to different payment configurations as the operator's needs change.
For operators considering cashless payments, MDB compatibility is an important specification to review when selecting a vending machine.
DEX Protocol
The Dixie Narco 276E is also listed with DEX protocol. DEX compatibility can support electronic sales and accounting data collection.
For vending operators managing multiple machines, sales data can be valuable. It can help operators understand which products are selling, how frequently machines need service, and where inventory adjustments may be needed.
DEX-related equipment and software requirements can vary depending on the operator's system. Operators using route-management or vending-management technology should verify compatibility with their specific equipment before deployment.
LED Customer Display
The product information for the 276E describes an LED display for customer interaction. A clear display can show pricing information, selection information, and other machine messages.
A visible display helps customers understand what the machine is doing during a purchase. It can also provide information when a selection is unavailable.
Keeping the customer interface simple is particularly useful in busy locations. Customers typically want to make a selection quickly, complete payment, and receive their beverage without a complicated process.
Refurbished Dixie Narco Equipment
This machine is sold as a refurbished item. Refurbished vending equipment can provide operators with access to commercial-grade machines without requiring the same investment associated with purchasing comparable new equipment.
Vending World explains that its refurbished machines are intended to provide an affordable alternative for operators who may not need or want the higher cost of new commercial equipment. The company also states that its machines receive refurbishment work before being offered for sale.
When purchasing refurbished equipment, buyers should understand that the machine has previously been used. The exact cosmetic condition can vary from one machine to another. The important consideration is that the machine has been prepared for continued commercial use.
The product page identifies this particular unit as refurbished and lists a 90-day limited parts warranty for refurbished vending machines.
Why Consider a Refurbished Beverage Vending Machine?
A full-size commercial vending machine represents a significant equipment purchase. For many new operators, controlling the initial equipment cost is an important part of building a vending route.
Refurbished equipment can provide a practical way to enter commercial vending while preserving capital for inventory, transportation, payment systems, location development, maintenance, and other operating expenses.
The Dixie Narco 276E also provides substantial storage capacity. This combination of commercial construction, multiple selections, cash acceptance, and payment-system compatibility makes the platform useful for a range of vending applications.
Suitable Locations for the Dixie Narco 276E
The best location for any vending machine depends on customer traffic, beverage demand, competition, access, operating conditions, and the agreement between the operator and location owner.
Potential locations for a beverage machine can include:
- Office buildings
- Manufacturing facilities
- Warehouses
- Apartment communities
- Auto service centers
- Hotels and hospitality locations
- Recreation facilities
- Gyms and fitness centers
- Employee break rooms
- Waiting areas
- Schools and approved educational facilities
- Community centers
- Service businesses
- Transportation-related facilities
- Outdoor-oriented businesses
Before installing the machine, confirm that the location has appropriate electrical service, sufficient floor space, safe access, and suitable environmental conditions.
Office Beverage Vending
Office environments can benefit from convenient access to cold beverages. Employees may not want to leave the workplace every time they want a drink.
A beverage vending machine can provide an on-site option without requiring the business to operate a staffed convenience area.
The seven-selection layout gives an operator room to provide several beverage categories. The right mix will depend on employee preferences and purchasing patterns.
Warehouse and Manufacturing Locations
Warehouses and manufacturing facilities can have consistent beverage demand, particularly when employees spend long periods on site.
A large-capacity machine can be useful in these environments because it can hold a significant number of beverages. Operators should monitor sales and restock according to actual demand.
Placement should also be convenient for employees while avoiding forklift paths, emergency exits, loading areas, and other restricted spaces.
Apartment and Residential Locations
Apartment communities can be another potential application for a commercial beverage machine. A machine placed near a clubhouse, laundry area, recreation space, or other approved common area can provide residents with convenient beverage access.
Operators should work directly with property management to determine an appropriate placement, electrical connection, operating agreement, and maintenance schedule.
Recreation and Outdoor-Oriented Locations
The Beach Scene graphics can complement recreational settings where a colorful beverage machine fits the overall environment.
Potential examples include approved recreation facilities, leisure-oriented businesses, community locations, and other sites where cold beverages are commonly purchased.
Outdoor placement requires additional planning. The machine should be installed in a suitable environment and protected from conditions that could damage the equipment or create safety concerns.
Product Mix Planning
One of the most important parts of operating a beverage vending machine is choosing the right products.
A machine can have excellent capacity, but the product mix still needs to match customer demand.
Operators can begin with a balanced selection and adjust it after reviewing sales. If one beverage sells faster than another, the operator can consider giving the stronger seller more inventory space where the machine's configuration allows it.
Product rotation is also important. Operators should check expiration dates and follow proper inventory-management practices.
Popular 12 oz Can Options
The machine is configured around 12 oz cans, making it suitable for many traditional soft drinks and other canned beverages.
Possible categories include:
- Cola
- Diet cola
- Zero-sugar beverages
- Lemon-lime soda
- Root beer
- Orange soda
- Flavored soft drinks
- Sports beverages in compatible packages
- Energy beverages in compatible cans
- Other compatible canned drinks
Always verify the physical dimensions and vending compatibility of a product before filling the machine.
Adjusting the Machine for Different Products
The 276E platform can provide flexibility beyond standard 12 oz cans. The product information notes compatibility with 16 oz cans and certain plastic bottle formats, including 16.9 oz and 20 oz bottles, when the machine is properly adjusted.
Operators should not assume that every beverage package will vend correctly without configuration changes. Can and bottle dimensions vary by manufacturer and product.
Proper product setup helps reduce vending errors and can improve customer satisfaction.
Vending Machine Maintenance
Routine maintenance is an important part of operating any commercial vending machine.
Operators should establish a regular inspection schedule. Cleaning, inventory checks, payment-system checks, temperature checks, and general mechanical inspections can help identify problems before they become larger issues.
A good maintenance routine can include:
- Cleaning customer-facing surfaces
- Checking the delivery area
- Inspecting product columns
- Checking payment equipment
- Checking the display
- Monitoring cooling performance
- Inspecting electrical connections
- Checking door seals
- Removing damaged products
- Rotating inventory
- Recording service issues
The exact maintenance schedule should reflect machine usage, location conditions, age, and manufacturer requirements.
Keeping the Beverage Machine Clean
A clean vending machine creates a better customer experience. Operators should routinely wipe down the front, selection area, payment area, product delivery area, and other customer-accessible surfaces.
Cleaning should be performed using methods and products appropriate for vending equipment. Avoid introducing liquids into electronic components.
Operators should also inspect the machine for signs of damage or tampering. Prompt attention can help prevent a small problem from becoming a larger service issue.
Monitoring Sales
Sales information can help operators make better inventory decisions. The DEX capability listed for this model may be useful for compatible data-management systems.
Operators can use sales information to identify:
- Fast-selling products
- Slow-moving products
- Popular selections
- Restocking frequency
- Revenue patterns
- Potential inventory changes
Sales data should be evaluated over enough time to identify meaningful patterns. A short-term spike may not represent normal demand.
Managing a Seven-Selection Machine
Seven selections provide a useful balance between product variety and straightforward customer choice.
Operators can assign each selection to a particular beverage category. The machine can then be monitored to determine whether the product mix is performing as expected.
If customers consistently purchase one product faster than others, the operator can consider adjusting the machine's configuration where practical.
Benefits of Multi-Price Vending
Multi-price operation gives operators more control over their product strategy.
For example, a standard soft drink and a specialty beverage may have different acquisition costs. Assigning separate prices can help account for those differences.
Multi-price operation can also make it easier to test products. An operator can introduce a new beverage at a price appropriate for its cost and customer demand.
Cash Payment Convenience
Cash acceptance remains useful for vending locations with a wide range of customers. The 276E accepts coins and $1 bills, giving customers traditional payment options.
Cash payment can also be useful as a backup option when a customer does not have access to a preferred cashless payment method.
Operators should regularly inspect and service payment equipment to maintain reliable transactions.
Cashless Payment Expansion
Cashless payment is increasingly common in vending. A credit-card-capable machine provides an upgrade path for operators who want to add compatible electronic payment equipment.
Because the credit card reader is not included with this machine, buyers should account for the additional equipment and installation when planning a cashless configuration.
The product page specifically notes that credit-card capability means the machine's electronics are new enough to accept a credit-card reader; it does not mean a reader is included.
Choosing a Location
Location is one of the most important factors in vending operations. A well-maintained machine still needs sufficient customer demand.
When evaluating a potential location, consider:
- Daily customer or employee traffic
- Hours of operation
- Existing beverage vending
- Nearby convenience stores
- Customer demographics
- Available electrical service
- Machine visibility
- Ease of access
- Security
- Restocking access
Operators should also discuss revenue-sharing arrangements, responsibilities, and installation requirements with the location owner before placing the machine.
Machine Placement
Placement affects both sales and serviceability. The machine should be easy for customers to see and access.
It should also leave sufficient room for the door to open and for the operator to perform maintenance and restocking.
Avoid blocking exits, fire equipment, walkways, electrical panels, or other critical building features.
Why Full-Size Commercial Equipment Matters
Small vending machines may have limited product capacity and payment options. A full-size commercial machine provides substantially more room for inventory and a broader payment configuration.
The Dixie Narco 276E is designed as commercial beverage equipment. Its 336+ can capacity gives operators the ability to serve a larger customer base between restocking visits than a small countertop machine.
For operators building a vending route, machine capacity can be an important consideration because travel time and labor are part of the overall operating process.
Refurbished Equipment and Initial Investment
Starting a vending route involves more than purchasing a machine. Operators may also need inventory, transportation, payment services, permits where applicable, insurance, tools, maintenance supplies, and location-development resources.
A refurbished machine can help an operator allocate capital across these other areas.
The goal should be to choose equipment that fits the intended location rather than purchasing equipment based only on appearance or price.
Commercial Construction
The Dixie Narco 276E is a full-size commercial beverage vending machine. Its design is intended for repeated customer use in commercial environments.
The machine's size and weight also mean that proper delivery and installation planning are important.
The product information lists the machine at approximately 767 pounds. Buyers should plan for appropriate equipment and personnel to move the machine safely.
Dimensions and Space Planning
The product page lists the machine dimensions at approximately 72 inches high, 33 inches wide, and 35 inches deep. Buyers should measure the intended installation area before ordering.
In addition to the cabinet dimensions, allow space for:
- Door opening
- Customer standing area
- Operator access
- Electrical connection
- Restocking
- Service work
- Safe movement around the machine
Doorways, hallways, elevators, ramps, and other access points should also be measured before arranging delivery.
Delivery Planning
Because a commercial vending machine is large and heavy, delivery requires more planning than a standard parcel shipment.
Before delivery, confirm that the machine can reach its final location. Check doorway dimensions and any stairs, turns, elevators, ramps, or other obstacles.
Make sure the final installation area is ready before the machine arrives.
Electrical Requirements
As with any refrigerated beverage vending machine, electrical service is an important part of installation planning.
Operators should confirm the electrical requirements and ensure that the installation site provides an appropriate power source.
Electrical work should be performed safely and in accordance with applicable local requirements.
Vending Business Applications
The Dixie Narco 276E can serve a variety of business models. Some operators use beverage vending as a side business, while others operate larger vending routes.
The machine can be particularly useful when a location has consistent demand for cold beverages but does not have a staffed retail counter.
Once installed, the operator is responsible for stocking, cleaning, collecting sales, monitoring the machine, and arranging maintenance when needed.
Starting a Vending Route
New operators should approach vending as an operating business rather than simply purchasing equipment.
The machine is only one part of the process. A successful route also depends on locations, inventory management, service, transportation, customer relationships, and financial planning.
Start with a clear understanding of the location before purchasing inventory. Ask what products customers want, how many people use the facility, and whether another vending provider is already serving the account.
Choosing Beverages for Your Market
There is no single product mix that works for every location.
Different customers have different preferences. An office may sell more traditional soft drinks and water, while a fitness-oriented location may have greater demand for sports or energy beverages.
The seven-selection design makes it possible to test several categories without requiring an oversized beverage menu.
Inventory Management
Good inventory management helps reduce waste and missed sales.
Operators should maintain enough stock to meet demand without overloading the machine with products that do not sell quickly.
Use sales records to guide purchasing. Products that sell consistently can receive more attention, while slow-moving items can be replaced or reduced.
Customer Experience
A vending machine should be easy to understand. Customers should be able to identify selections, see pricing, make payment, and retrieve their beverage without confusion.
The 276E's seven-selection layout helps keep the product menu manageable. Its display also provides information during the transaction.
A clean, well-stocked machine can create a better experience than one with empty selections, dirty surfaces, or unclear pricing.
Security and Location Considerations
Commercial vending equipment should be installed in a location appropriate for the machine and its payment systems.
Operators should consider lighting, customer visibility, security cameras where available, and general site conditions.
The machine should be secured and installed according to appropriate safety practices.
Refurbished Does Not Mean Small or Basic
The word refurbished can sometimes create the impression that equipment is intended only for light use. The Dixie Narco 276E is different from a small countertop vending machine.
It is a full-size commercial beverage machine with substantial storage capacity and support for multiple payment technologies.
Refurbishment provides an opportunity to purchase commercial equipment that has already been used while maintaining a lower equipment cost than many new commercial machines.
Beach Scene Design for Brand Visibility
The Beach Scene graphics provide a visual identity for this particular 276E. New side decals and a new sign refresh the exterior presentation.
Graphic vending equipment can work particularly well in environments where appearance matters. A machine does not need to look generic to provide commercial beverage service.
The graphics can also make the machine easier to identify within a larger facility.

What Makes the 276E Useful for Beverage Vending?
The Dixie Narco 276E brings several practical features together in one machine. It has substantial beverage capacity, seven selections, traditional cash payment, MDB compatibility, DEX capability, multi-price operation, and the ability to support a cashless reader.
These features make it adaptable to different types of vending locations.
The machine is also configured around a familiar 12 oz can format. This allows operators to stock many widely available beverage products.
For New Vending Operators
The 276E can be a useful platform for someone entering commercial beverage vending who wants more than a small starter machine.
New operators should first identify a location and understand its demand. The machine should then be configured around the products and payment methods that make sense for that location.
Operators should also create a plan for transportation, stocking, cleaning, maintenance, and sales tracking before installation.
For Existing Vending Operators
Experienced operators may use a machine such as the 276E to expand an existing route, replace an older beverage machine, or add capacity at an established location.
The DEX and MDB capabilities can also make the machine relevant to operators using vending-management and cashless payment systems.
Before adding equipment to a route, verify that its physical dimensions, power requirements, payment configuration, and product configuration fit the intended account.
Maintenance and Long-Term Operation
Regular maintenance is one of the best ways to protect a vending investment. Operators should establish a consistent service routine instead of waiting until a customer reports a problem.
Routine inspections can identify issues involving refrigeration, payment equipment, product delivery, lighting, door hardware, or other components.
When replacement parts are needed, using the correct compatible part is important. Operators should identify the machine model and component before ordering replacement parts.
Cleaning Schedule
A practical cleaning schedule can include daily, weekly, and periodic tasks based on usage.
Customer-facing areas should be kept clean. The delivery compartment should also be checked for spilled beverages, damaged packaging, or debris.
The machine's exterior graphics should be cleaned using an appropriate method that does not damage the decals.
Product Rotation
Product rotation is another important part of beverage vending. Older inventory should generally be positioned so that it sells before newer inventory.
Operators should inspect products during every restock. Damaged cans, leaking containers, or products that are otherwise unsuitable for sale should be removed.
Reducing Stockouts
An empty selection represents a missed sales opportunity. Operators can reduce stockouts by tracking sales and establishing restocking schedules based on actual demand.
High-volume locations may require more frequent service. Lower-volume locations may require less frequent visits.
DEX-compatible systems can be useful for operators who want to collect machine data and improve route planning.
Planning for Growth
Operators who are building a vending business should consider how each machine fits into the larger route.
A machine that sells quickly may require frequent service. A machine that sells slowly may require fewer visits but may also generate less revenue.
The goal is to match the equipment and service schedule to the location rather than applying the same strategy to every account.
Why Capacity Matters
Capacity matters because every refill requires time and transportation.
The 336+ can capacity of the 276E gives the operator substantial room for inventory. This can be particularly helpful at locations with steady demand.
However, capacity should always be considered alongside actual sales. A large machine does not automatically produce high sales. Location quality remains important.
Professional Appearance
A vending machine becomes part of the environment where it is installed. The Beach Scene graphics provide a finished appearance that can complement many casual and recreational settings.
The new sign and side decals listed with this refurbished machine give the exterior a refreshed presentation.
Keeping the machine clean and properly stocked will help maintain that appearance after installation.
Payment Flexibility
Modern vending operators often need to serve customers with different payment preferences. This machine provides a combination of traditional cash acceptance and the ability to add compatible cashless payment equipment.
Coins and $1 bills provide a traditional payment option. MDB capability provides an interface for compatible vending payment equipment. Credit-card capability gives operators a path toward electronic payments.
Buyers should verify the exact cashless equipment they intend to use before purchase and installation.
Understanding the Credit Card Option
It is important to repeat one key point about the payment configuration: this machine does not include a credit card reader simply because it is listed as credit-card capable.
Credit-card capable means the machine's electronics can support a compatible reader. The reader itself is an additional component.
Installation may also involve additional costs. Buyers who want cashless payment should plan for the reader, service, connectivity, transaction processing, and installation requirements.
Commercial Beverage Vending Made Practical
The Dixie Narco Model 276E provides the core features many operators look for in commercial beverage equipment.
Its 336+ 12 oz can capacity provides room for substantial inventory. Seven selections allow product variety. Multi-price capability provides pricing flexibility. Coin and $1 bill acceptance support traditional transactions. MDB and DEX provide compatibility with common vending technology.
The Beach Scene graphics give the machine a distinctive appearance, while the refurbished condition provides an alternative to purchasing new commercial equipment.
Before You Purchase
Before ordering, buyers should review the machine specifications and compare them with the intended installation location.
Confirm:
- Available floor space
- Doorway and delivery access
- Electrical availability
- Desired beverage products
- Payment requirements
- Cashless reader requirements
- Location security
- Restocking access
- Service access
- Local vending requirements
Because refurbished equipment may have cosmetic variations, buyers should also understand that the exact appearance of an individual machine can vary.
Ideal for a Wide Range of Beverage Programs
The Dixie Narco 276E can be configured for different beverage programs. Operators can use traditional soda products, water, sports drinks, energy beverages, and other compatible products based on the location.
The seven-selection format makes it possible to test different products while keeping the machine organized.
Over time, operators can use sales information to refine the selection mix.
A Practical Choice for Route Expansion
Existing vending businesses can use commercial beverage machines to expand their routes. A refurbished 276E can potentially fill a need where a new machine would exceed the available equipment budget.
Operators should compare the machine's dimensions, configuration, and payment capabilities with the requirements of the new account.
Built Around a Familiar Vending Format
The Dixie Narco 276E is built around a straightforward beverage vending concept: customers select a drink, pay for it, and receive the product through the delivery area.
The familiar format helps reduce the learning curve for customers. Clear selection buttons, pricing, and display information make the purchasing process easy to understand.
Refurbished Equipment from Vending World
Vending World identifies itself as a supplier of refurbished vending machines and vending parts. The company states that it has been selling used and refurbished vending equipment for many years and provides a limited parts warranty on refurbished machines.
The product page currently identifies this 276E as a refurbished machine and lists a 90-day limited parts warranty.
Final Product Summary
The Dixie Narco Model 276E 12oz Can Machine – Beach Scene combines commercial beverage vending capacity with a distinctive graphic package and flexible payment capabilities.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
