Dixie Narco Shim for 2145, 5591, 12 oz Can 3/16" #801813630.21
Keep your Dixie Narco beverage vending machine properly configured for standard 12 oz cans with the Dixie Narco Shim for 2145, 5591, 12 oz Can 3/16" #801813630.21. This new replacement shim is designed for specific Dixie Narco vending machine applications and helps provide the correct product positioning needed for dependable beverage vending. It is a practical replacement part for vending operators, technicians, route owners, and businesses maintaining Dixie Narco equipment.
This 12 oz can shim is identified by manufacturer part number 801813630.21 and was previously referenced as W212-1. The shim is designed for tall-gate applications and has a listed 3/16" (.155") shim size. It fits Dixie Narco 5591 and DN5000 machines and can also be used with a Dixie Narco 2145 equipped with tall gates. Always confirm your machine configuration and the required shim size before ordering.
Designed for 12 oz Beverage Cans
Vending machines must hold products in the correct position to achieve consistent dispensing. A shim is a small component, but its role can be important in maintaining the correct product setup inside a beverage machine. The proper shim helps configure the vending mechanism for the product being sold.
This Dixie Narco shim is intended specifically for 12 oz cans. It is a useful choice when servicing compatible Dixie Narco equipment that requires the 3/16" or .155" shim specification. Using the correct component can help operators maintain the intended product configuration instead of trying to adapt an incorrect shim or relying on makeshift solutions.
For vending operators, having the correct replacement parts available can also reduce unnecessary downtime. A small replacement component can help get a machine back into service when an existing shim is missing, damaged, worn, or no longer available.
Compatible Dixie Narco Machines
The 801813630.21 Dixie Narco shim is listed for several Dixie Narco beverage vending applications. Compatibility information includes:
- Dixie Narco 5591
- Dixie Narco DN5000
- Dixie Narco 2145 with tall gates
The 2145 application is especially important to verify because the listing specifies that this shim is intended for machines equipped with tall gates. Machine configuration matters when selecting vending shims, so do not assume that every 2145 machine uses the same shim.
Important Shim Size Information
This part is listed as a 3/16" (.155") shim. The size is an important part of identifying the correct component for your vending machine and product configuration.
Dixie Narco machines can use different shims for different beverages and package sizes. A 12 oz can, 16 oz bottle, 20 oz bottle, and other beverage packages may require different configurations. Selecting a shim by appearance alone can lead to an incorrect fit or vending setup.
For that reason, carefully compare the existing part, machine model, gate configuration, product package, and manufacturer part number before placing an order. If you are unsure which shim your machine requires, verify the application before purchasing multiple pieces.
Manufacturer Part Number 801813630.21
Using the correct manufacturer part number makes replacement-part identification much easier. This shim is identified as Dixie Narco #801813630.21 and was previously known as W212-1. These numbers can be useful when searching maintenance records, service documentation, parts lists, or previous purchase records.
When replacing a small vending machine component, matching the part number can help reduce the risk of ordering a similar-looking but incorrect component. Keep the part number with your machine maintenance records so future repairs and service work can be completed more efficiently.
Why the Correct Shim Matters
Product vending depends on proper positioning inside the machine. Beverage cans must be supported and guided correctly as they move through the vending mechanism. A properly selected shim helps establish the product configuration intended for the machine.
Using the correct shim can be part of a larger preventive maintenance program. When servicing a Dixie Narco machine, operators can inspect the vending area for worn components, damaged parts, loose hardware, or incorrect product settings. Replacing a missing or damaged shim is one step toward keeping the machine properly configured.
Correct product setup is particularly important for operators who depend on reliable vending across multiple locations. A machine that consistently dispenses products can help reduce service calls and interruptions. While a shim is only one component of the overall vending system, using the correct replacement part supports proper machine setup.
New Replacement Part
This item is sold as a new part. A new replacement shim is a convenient option for vending operators who are restoring an existing machine or maintaining equipment in regular service.
Whether you are replacing a lost component during a machine rebuild or keeping spare parts available for future service, having the correct shim on hand can save time when maintenance is required. Small vending parts are easy to overlook during inventory, yet they can be essential when completing a repair or changing product configurations.
Ideal for Vending Machine Maintenance
The Dixie Narco 801813630.21 shim is suitable for a range of vending maintenance situations. It can be useful for:
- Vending machine repair and maintenance
- Dixie Narco machine refurbishment
- Replacing missing or damaged shims
- Setting up compatible machines for 12 oz cans
- Maintaining 5591 and DN5000 beverage machines
- Servicing 2145 machines with tall gates
- Keeping spare vending parts in inventory
- Professional vending technician service calls
- Independent vending route maintenance
- Machine rebuild and restoration projects
Useful for Vending Route Operators
Vending route operators often maintain multiple machines and may encounter different repair needs from one location to another. Keeping common replacement components organized can make routine service faster and more efficient.
A properly identified shim is particularly useful when a machine needs to be returned to a known product configuration. Instead of searching for an unidentified replacement, operators can reference the machine model and part number to determine whether the 801813630.21 is the appropriate component.
For businesses operating multiple compatible Dixie Narco machines, stocking commonly needed replacement parts may also help reduce delays during scheduled maintenance. Always verify compatibility before ordering larger quantities.
Installation and Compatibility Considerations
Before installing this shim, verify the vending machine model, gate configuration, product package, and required shim specification. This part is intended for 12 oz cans and is listed for specific Dixie Narco applications.
For the Dixie Narco 2145, the application specifically calls for tall gates. This detail should not be overlooked. A different gate configuration may require another shim.
When servicing vending equipment, disconnect power and follow the machine manufacturer's service procedures as appropriate. Make sure the machine is safely positioned before working inside the cabinet or vending mechanism. If you are uncertain about installation or compatibility, consult the appropriate service documentation or a qualified vending machine technician.
Do Not Assume All Beverage Containers Are the Same
One of the most important considerations when selecting vending shims is the actual size and shape of the product being vended. Beverage manufacturers produce many different can and bottle formats. Two packages that have similar capacities may not have identical dimensions.
This is why the correct shim should be selected based on the actual machine and product configuration rather than volume alone. The product listing for this part identifies it specifically as a 12 oz can shim. If your product has an unusual diameter, shape, or packaging style, confirm the required shim before ordering.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
