Large Beverage Capacity
Capacity is one of the most important factors when choosing a vending machine. A machine with more product space can help reduce the number of trips needed for restocking. The Royal Vendors 550 offers substantial storage in a standard commercial vending footprint.
The listed capacity is more than 540 12 oz cans. It can also hold more than 240 20 oz bottles, depending on how the columns are configured. This flexibility makes the Royal 550 useful for operators who want to sell cans, bottles, or a combination of beverage sizes.
Operators can stock popular Coca Cola products, bottled water, sports drinks, juices, energy drinks, and other compatible beverages. Product selection can be adjusted based on the location and customer demand.
Eight Selections and Ten Columns
The Royal 550 features 8 selections and 10 columns. This setup provides useful flexibility for building a beverage menu.
Multiple columns can be dedicated to popular products. For example, an operator may give additional space to a drink that sells quickly. Slower-selling products can use less space. This approach can help operators make better use of the machine's storage capacity.
The machine can also be configured for different beverage packaging requirements. Vending World lists an option for converting columns to accommodate 20 oz bottles. Always verify the desired configuration before ordering.
Coca Cola Wavefront Graphics
The Coca Cola Wavefront design gives this Royal 550 a recognizable commercial appearance. The branded exterior can help the machine stand out in break rooms, workplaces, retail spaces, recreational facilities, and other vending locations.
Strong product presentation is important in vending. Customers need to identify the machine quickly and understand that cold beverages are available. The Coca Cola graphics provide a familiar visual presentation that fits many beverage vending environments.
Multiple Payment Options
The Royal Vendors 550 is designed to support convenient payment options. The standard configuration accepts coins and $1 bills. The machine is also credit card capable, meaning its electronics can support the addition of a compatible cashless payment reader.
A credit card reader is not included with the base machine. Vending World lists an E-Port credit card reader as an available upgrade. Buyers can choose to have the reader packed inside the machine for self-installation or arrange installation through an outside technician.
Vending World also lists bill and coin mechanism upgrade options. These include a high-capacity coin mechanism with $5 bill capability and an option supporting $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. Available upgrades and pricing should be confirmed when placing an order.
DEX Protocol for Vending Operations
The Royal 550 supports DEX protocol. DEX can be useful for vending operators who want electronic sales and machine data for compatible management systems.
For operators managing multiple machines, electronic data can make route management easier. Sales information can help identify popular products, monitor machine activity, and plan service visits.
DEX compatibility is especially useful as a vending operation grows. Operators can use available machine data to make stocking decisions based on actual sales information rather than relying only on visual checks.
Refurbished Commercial Vending Equipment
This Royal Vendors 550 is a refurbished machine. Refurbished commercial vending equipment can provide operators with a way to add vending capacity without purchasing a new machine.
Vending World explains that it focuses on full-size commercial vending equipment rather than small countertop machines. The company states that its refurbished machines are prepared for commercial use and provides a 90-day limited parts warranty on refurbished vending machines.
Choosing refurbished equipment can also make sense for operators who are starting a vending route or expanding an existing route. The right machine depends on the location, expected sales volume, available budget, and products that will be sold.
Built for Commercial Locations
The Royal Vendors 550 is a full-size machine intended for commercial vending applications. Its large capacity makes it suitable for locations where customers need convenient access to refrigerated beverages.
Potential locations may include:
- Office buildings
- Employee break rooms
- Manufacturing facilities
- Warehouses
- Schools and educational facilities
- Apartment communities
- Hotels and lodging facilities
- Gyms and fitness centers
- Auto service facilities
- Retail businesses
- Recreation centers
- Other high-traffic commercial locations
The best location will depend on local demand and the products being offered. Operators should evaluate traffic, customer demographics, available electrical service, floor space, and security before installing a vending machine.
Space Requirements
The Royal Vendors 550 measures approximately 72 inches high, 31 inches wide, and 34 inches deep. Its full-size commercial design provides substantial beverage capacity while keeping the width relatively compact for the amount of product it can hold.
Before purchasing, measure the intended installation area carefully. Allow additional space for moving the machine into the location, opening the door for service, loading products, and performing routine maintenance.
Because this is a large commercial machine, proper delivery planning is important. Check doorways, hallways, elevators, ramps, and other access points before scheduling installation.
Flexible Beverage Merchandising
One advantage of a multi-column beverage machine is the ability to adjust the product mix. Customer preferences can vary greatly from one location to another.
An office may have strong demand for bottled water and soft drinks. A warehouse may sell more energy drinks and sports beverages. A recreation center may need a wider selection of bottled beverages.
The Royal 550 gives operators the column space needed to adjust the selection as sales patterns develop. Fast-selling beverages can receive additional column space, while less popular items can be reduced or replaced.
Why Choose the Royal Vendors 550?
The Royal Vendors 550 Coca Cola Wavefront combines large capacity, flexible beverage configuration, multiple payment options, and a recognizable commercial design. Its 8 selections and 10 columns provide useful merchandising flexibility, while the listed capacity of 540+ cans makes it well suited for locations with regular beverage demand.
The machine is also DEX compatible and credit card capable. These features can be valuable for operators who want to build a more modern vending operation. Cashless payment capability can be added separately, allowing operators to choose the payment setup that fits their route.
Refurbished Value for Vending Operators
Starting or expanding a vending business requires careful equipment planning. A refurbished commercial machine can help operators enter a location with a full-size vending solution while managing equipment costs.
The Royal 550 provides much more storage than small countertop or mechanical vending equipment. Its commercial design is intended for locations where beverage demand justifies a larger machine.
For operators building a route, machine capacity can also affect service efficiency. A larger machine may allow more beverages to be loaded during each service visit. Actual results will depend on product sales, location traffic, pricing, and restocking practices.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
