Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle Refurbished Drink Vending Machine

The Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle vending machine is a full-size commercial beverage machine built for locations that need dependable cold drink service, large product capacity, and a professional appearance.

This refurbished Royal Vendors drink machine combines the proven Royal 550 platform with an attractive Dasani Freestyle fiberglass front. It is a strong choice for offices, warehouses, break rooms, laundromats, schools, manufacturing facilities, waiting areas, apartment communities, and many other vending locations.

The Royal 550 offers 6 customer selections and 10 product columns. This configuration gives vending operators useful capacity while allowing popular beverages to be stocked in more than one column.

The machine is listed to hold approximately 540+ 12 oz cans or 240+ 20 oz bottles, depending on the products and setup. That large capacity can help reduce unnecessary refill trips at busy locations.

It is also a multi-price vending machine. Different beverage selections can be assigned different selling prices. This gives operators more flexibility when stocking soda, bottled water, sports drinks, energy drinks, and other packaged beverages.

The Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle is also listed as credit card capable. This means its electronics are new enough to support a compatible credit card reader. A credit card reader is not included with the machine unless specifically stated or purchased separately.

If you need a commercial beverage vending machine with proven capacity, flexible product choices, modern payment upgrade potential, and distinctive Dasani graphics, the Royal Vendors 550 deserves serious consideration.

A Commercial-Grade Royal Vendors Beverage Machine

A beverage vending machine has a simple job. It needs to keep drinks cold, accept payment, and dispense the selected product.

For a vending operator, however, there is much more to consider.

Capacity matters. Product flexibility matters. Payment options matter. Service access matters. Machine size matters. Appearance also matters because the vending machine becomes part of the location where it is installed.

The Royal Vendors 550 was designed as a commercial beverage vending platform. It provides the size and capacity needed for traditional vending locations where smaller machines may require frequent restocking.

This particular version adds the distinctive Dasani Freestyle graphic package. The design gives the machine a clean beverage-focused appearance that works well in many public and employee locations.

For operators building a vending route, a Royal 550 can provide a practical balance between capacity, selection, and footprint.

Why Choose the Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle?

There are many reasons to consider a refurbished Royal Vendors 550.

The first is capacity.

A commercial vending machine should carry enough inventory to make each service trip worthwhile. A machine that empties too quickly can create extra driving, extra labor, and missed sales.

The Royal 550 is listed with capacity for approximately 540+ 12 oz cans or approximately 240+ 20 oz bottles. Actual capacity depends on the product mix and machine setup.

The second advantage is flexibility.

The machine provides 10 columns and 6 selections. Operators can use those columns to create a beverage lineup that matches the needs of the location.

Popular products can receive additional column space. Slower products can receive less space. This can make inventory planning easier and help reduce sold-out selections.

The third advantage is payment flexibility.

The machine accepts coins and $1 bills with its installed payment equipment. It is also listed as credit card capable, giving operators a path toward adding a compatible cashless payment reader.

Dasani Freestyle Fiberglass Front

Appearance can have a major impact on the way customers view a vending machine.

A clean and attractive machine looks more professional. It can also help the machine fit naturally into offices, waiting rooms, employee break areas, and other customer-facing spaces.

This Royal 550 features a Dasani Freestyle fiberglass front.

The branded design immediately communicates cold beverage service. The graphics can help create a more polished presentation than a plain cabinet.

Dasani branding is especially well suited for locations where bottled water and cold beverages are an important part of the product mix.

The graphic package does not limit the machine to Dasani products. Operators can configure the machine with compatible beverages based on the needs of their location and the machine setup.

6 Beverage Selections

The Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle provides 6 customer selections.

Six selections give operators enough room to create a focused beverage menu without making the machine unnecessarily complicated.

A typical lineup could include several types of soda, bottled water, sports drinks, or other compatible packaged beverages.

For example, a location might use its selections for:

  • Regular cola
  • Diet or zero-sugar cola
  • Lemon-lime soda
  • Bottled water
  • Sports drink
  • Another popular local beverage

This is only an example. The actual product mix is up to the operator and should be based on compatible package sizes and customer demand.

10 Product Columns

Although the machine has 6 selections, it contains 10 product columns.

That difference is useful.

Multiple columns can be assigned to popular selections. This gives high-selling drinks more inventory space.

Suppose one beverage accounts for a large percentage of sales at a location. Giving that product additional column capacity may help prevent it from selling out before the next service visit.

This approach can be especially helpful in warehouses, factories, offices, and other locations with predictable buying patterns.

Operators can review sales over time and adjust the product mix as needed.

The goal is simple: provide more space for the drinks customers buy most often.

Large 12 oz Can Capacity

When configured for standard 12 oz cans, the Royal Vendors 550 is listed with a capacity of approximately 540+ cans.

That is a major benefit for traditional soda vending.

High capacity can reduce the number of times an operator needs to visit a location solely to refill the machine.

Fewer unnecessary service calls can save time and fuel.

It can also help keep popular products available between scheduled route visits.

A large can capacity is useful for locations such as:

  • Manufacturing plants
  • Distribution centers
  • Employee break rooms
  • Automotive facilities
  • Laundromats
  • Warehouses
  • Schools
  • Apartment communities
  • Recreation facilities
  • Service businesses

20 oz Bottle Capacity

The Royal 550 can also be configured for compatible bottled beverages.

The listing shows capacity of approximately 240+ 20 oz bottles.

Bottled beverages can be attractive to customers because bottles are resealable and convenient to carry.

They can also support a different retail price than standard cans.

Operators may choose bottles for water, soda, sports drinks, and other compatible beverages.

Always confirm the exact package size and machine configuration before changing products. Bottle shapes and dimensions can vary even when the stated liquid volume is the same.

Can and Bottle Flexibility

Product flexibility is valuable in vending because customer preferences change.

One location may sell mostly canned soda.

Another may have stronger demand for bottled water.

A gym may need more sports drinks and water. An office may sell a mix of soda, water, and zero-sugar drinks. A warehouse may need a completely different mix.

The Royal Vendors 550 gives operators the ability to build a beverage program around the location rather than forcing every account into the same product plan.

Before changing beverage sizes, operators should always make sure the machine is properly configured for the product being loaded.

Correct setup is important for dependable vending.

Multi-Price Vending

The Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle is a multi-price vending machine.

This means different selections can be sold at different prices when the machine is configured correctly.

That is an important feature for modern vending.

Not every beverage has the same wholesale cost.

A 12 oz can may cost less than a 20 oz bottle. Bottled water may have a different cost than an energy drink. Premium beverages may need a higher selling price.

Multi-price capability lets the operator account for those differences.

Instead of forcing every selection to use one price, the operator can create pricing that better matches the products being sold.

Why Multi-Price Capability Matters

  • Supports different beverage costs
  • Allows different retail prices
  • Makes mixed beverage menus easier to manage
  • Provides more control over margins
  • Allows operators to test different product categories
  • Provides more flexibility as wholesale costs change

Coin Acceptance

Cash remains useful in many vending locations.

The Royal Vendors 550 is equipped to accept coins through its payment system.

Coin acceptance can be especially important in locations where customers still prefer cash or where employees frequently carry change.

A working coin mechanism also allows the machine to provide the traditional vending experience customers expect.

As with any vending equipment, coin tubes should be maintained with enough change for normal operation.

Accepts $1 Bills

The machine is also listed as accepting $1 bills.

A bill validator makes purchasing more convenient for customers who do not have coins.

This is particularly useful when products are priced above common coin-only amounts.

A combination of coin and bill acceptance gives customers more than one way to make a purchase.

The exact installed validator may vary on refurbished equipment. Buyers should review the current machine configuration if a specific validator model is important to their operation.

Credit Card Reader Capable

One of the most important features listed for this Royal Vendors 550 is credit card reader capability.

Cashless vending has become an important part of many vending operations.

Customers may prefer to use a credit card, debit card, mobile wallet, or another supported cashless method instead of carrying bills and coins.

Adding a compatible cashless reader can make the machine more convenient for those customers.

However, there is an important distinction.

Credit card capable does not mean that a credit card reader is included with this machine.

It means the electronics are new enough to support a compatible reader.

The reader itself must be purchased separately unless the product listing specifically states otherwise.

Important Credit Card Reader Note

A credit card reader is not included with the Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle unless specifically stated.

Additional hardware, installation, activation, wireless service, merchant processing, and transaction fees may apply depending on the cashless system selected.

DEX Protocol

The Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle is listed with DEX protocol.

DEX is commonly used in commercial vending for machine and sales data communication.

For vending route operators, compatible data systems can help provide useful information about machine activity.

The exact functions available depend on the equipment, reader, telemetry service, and software being used.

Operators who plan to connect the machine to a specific telemetry or cashless platform should confirm compatibility with that provider before installation.

Designed for Commercial Vending Locations

The Royal 550 is not a small countertop vending machine.

It is a full-size commercial beverage vendor.

That makes it better suited for locations where regular beverage sales justify commercial equipment.

A full-size machine provides more inventory capacity than many compact machines.

That can make route servicing more efficient because an operator can stock more products during each visit.

The larger cabinet also creates a visible vending presence.

Customers can quickly recognize the machine as a dedicated cold beverage vendor.

Ideal for Office Break Rooms

Office break rooms are a natural location for the Royal Vendors 550.

Employees often want a quick drink without leaving the building.

A beverage vending machine gives them convenient access throughout the workday.

The operator can stock a balanced mix of regular soda, zero-sugar beverages, bottled water, and other compatible drinks.

The machine's multi-price feature is useful when different beverage types have different costs.

Its large capacity can also help reduce refill frequency in busy offices.

Great for Warehouses and Distribution Centers

Warehouses can generate steady vending demand.

Employees may work long shifts and have limited time during breaks.

A cold drink machine placed near the break area gives workers quick access to refreshments without requiring a trip off-site.

The Royal 550's commercial capacity makes it useful for locations with many employees.

Operators can dedicate extra columns to the best-selling beverages to reduce sold-out conditions.

Useful for Manufacturing Facilities

Manufacturing plants often have similar vending needs.

Employees need convenient access to drinks during scheduled breaks.

A full-size beverage vendor can provide that service without requiring a staffed cafeteria or convenience counter.

Depending on the location, an operator can stock water, soda, sports drinks, and other compatible beverages.

Sales history can then be used to adjust the product mix.

A Practical Choice for Laundromats

Laundromat customers often remain at the location for an extended period.

That creates a natural opportunity for vending.

A customer who is waiting for a wash or dry cycle may purchase a cold drink while they wait.

The Royal Vendors 550 can provide unattended beverage service without requiring employees to handle individual drink sales.

Its branded Dasani front also makes the machine easy to identify.

Apartment and Residential Communities

Apartment communities may use vending machines in laundry rooms, clubhouses, recreation areas, or shared facilities.

Residents can purchase beverages without leaving the property.

A commercial vending machine can also provide service outside normal office hours.

Cash and optional cashless payment choices can make the machine convenient for a wide range of residents.

Hotels and Motels

Hotels and motels are another possible vending environment.

Guests often want a cold beverage after the lobby store or nearby businesses have closed.

A beverage vending machine can provide self-service access around the clock when the property allows it.

Machines may be placed near ice machines, guest laundry rooms, vending areas, or other approved common spaces.

Automotive Businesses

Auto repair shops, tire stores, dealerships, and service centers can also benefit from beverage vending.

Customers may wait for repairs or scheduled maintenance.

Employees also need access to drinks throughout the day.

One vending machine can potentially serve both groups.

The machine can be placed in a customer waiting room, employee area, or another suitable indoor location.

Schools and Educational Facilities

Educational facilities may also use commercial beverage vending where permitted.

Product selection and machine placement should follow all applicable school rules and nutrition requirements.

Where vending is allowed, the Royal Vendors 550 provides a large-capacity platform for compatible beverages.

Water and other approved drinks can be stocked according to the needs of the facility.

Gyms and Recreation Centers

Hydration is important at fitness and recreation locations.

A commercial beverage vending machine can give visitors easy access to bottled water, sports drinks, and other compatible products.

Cashless payment capability can be especially useful in these environments because customers may not carry cash while exercising.

The Dasani-themed graphics can also fit naturally into a hydration-focused environment.

Community Centers

Community centers serve many different groups.

Activities may run during the day, evening, or weekend.

A vending machine can provide beverage service even when a staffed concession area is not available.

The operator can change the product mix as customer demand becomes clearer.

High-Capacity Vending Can Reduce Service Trips

Route efficiency is one of the biggest concerns for a vending operator.

Every service visit requires time.

The operator must drive to the location, park, enter the building, open the machine, refill products, collect cash, perform maintenance if needed, and move to the next stop.

A machine with larger capacity can potentially stay stocked longer than a small vendor.

That can make route planning easier.

Instead of visiting a location simply because the machine has very little storage, the operator can build a service schedule around actual sales.

Use Extra Columns for Best Sellers

The 10-column design gives operators an important merchandising tool.

Not every beverage sells at the same rate.

One product may sell twice as quickly as another.

When possible, assigning more column space to that high-volume product can help the machine remain stocked between visits.

This is often more useful than giving every beverage exactly the same inventory space.

Vending should be managed according to customer demand.

Build a Better Beverage Mix

The right product mix depends on the location.

There is no single beverage menu that works everywhere.

An office with mostly daytime employees may have different preferences than a warehouse operating three shifts.

A gym will likely have different demand than a laundromat.

Start with familiar products.

Then watch sales.

Remove products that consistently sell slowly. Increase capacity for drinks that sell quickly.

This simple process can improve inventory turnover and reduce wasted space.

Possible Beverage Categories

  • Regular soda
  • Diet soda
  • Zero-sugar soda
  • Bottled water
  • Flavored water
  • Sports drinks
  • Energy drinks when compatible
  • Juice beverages when compatible
  • Tea beverages when compatible
  • Other compatible packaged cold drinks

Why Product Size Matters

A beverage vending machine must be configured correctly for the package being dispensed.

A 12 oz can does not have the same dimensions as a 20 oz bottle.

Even bottles with the same stated volume may have different shapes.

That is why operators should not assume that every beverage will vend correctly simply because it fits inside the cabinet.

Always confirm product compatibility and setup before filling an entire column.

Test-vend products after making changes.

Proper setup helps prevent jams, double vends, and missed sales.

Refurbished Commercial Vending Equipment

This Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle is sold as a refurbished vending machine.

Refurbished commercial equipment can be a practical alternative to purchasing new vending equipment.

For many operators, the goal is to place dependable equipment while keeping the initial investment at a reasonable level.

This is especially important when opening new vending accounts.

A location's future sales are never guaranteed.

Using refurbished commercial equipment can help reduce the amount of capital tied up in a new account.

At the same time, the operator still receives a full-size commercial vending platform.

Why Refurbished Machines Make Sense for Many Operators

New commercial vending machines can require a large investment.

That may be justified for certain high-volume locations.

However, many ordinary vending accounts do not require brand-new equipment to provide reliable beverage service.

A refurbished machine can allow operators to put more of their available capital into inventory, additional machines, route development, repairs, transportation, or other business needs.

This approach can be especially helpful for new vending operators who are trying to grow gradually.

Commercial Equipment Instead of Small Mechanical Vendors

Small vending machines may look inexpensive at first.

However, low capacity can create extra work.

If a small machine needs constant refilling, the operator may spend too much time driving and servicing the account.

A full-size commercial vendor such as the Royal 550 can carry substantially more inventory.

That is important because route operators make money by selling products, not by spending unnecessary time driving between machines.

Capacity can therefore be an important part of route efficiency.

Machine Dimensions

The Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle is a full-size machine.

Its listed dimensions are approximately:

  • Height: 72 inches
  • Width: 31 inches
  • Depth: 34 inches
  • Listed Weight: Approximately 645 lbs.

Measure the installation location before ordering.

Do not measure only the final floor space.

You should also measure the complete delivery path.

Measure These Areas Before Delivery

  • Exterior doors
  • Interior doors
  • Hallways
  • Elevators
  • Stairways
  • Corners and turns
  • Loading areas
  • Final installation space

Make sure there is enough room to safely move the machine into place.

Also consider the room needed to open and service the machine.

Plan the Installation Area Carefully

A vending machine should be placed on a stable surface in an appropriate location.

The machine should be accessible to customers while still allowing service access.

Operators should also consider electrical access, ventilation, security, traffic flow, and delivery access.

Avoid choosing a location only because there is an empty space.

A good vending location should be easy to see and easy to reach.

Choose a Visible Location

Visibility matters.

Customers are more likely to use a vending machine when they regularly see it.

A machine hidden in a remote room may generate fewer sales than the same machine placed near a break area or natural traffic path.

Look for areas where people already stop, wait, eat, or take breaks.

Good placement can be just as important as product selection.

Convenient Self-Service Beverage Sales

One of the biggest advantages of vending is convenience.

A vending machine does not require an employee to handle every transaction.

Customers can select a beverage and pay directly at the machine.

For a business, that can add a useful amenity without operating a staffed concession counter.

For a vending operator, it creates an automated retail point that can continue selling whenever customers have access to the machine.

Keep the Machine Clean

A clean vending machine creates a better customer experience.

The exterior should be wiped regularly.

Payment areas should remain clean and easy to use.

The delivery area should also be checked during service visits.

Inside the machine, remove damaged products, loose packaging, and debris.

Good housekeeping also gives the operator a chance to notice small problems before they become larger problems.

Inspect the Machine During Every Service Visit

A refill visit is also an inspection opportunity.

Do not simply load beverages and leave.

Take a few minutes to check the machine.

Basic Service Checklist

  • Check product inventory
  • Look for damaged packages
  • Test the coin mechanism
  • Test the bill validator
  • Check the display
  • Test-vend several selections
  • Inspect the delivery area
  • Confirm products are cold
  • Clean customer touch points
  • Check for unusual sounds
  • Check the machine for visible damage
  • Review cashless reader operation if installed

Test Vend After Restocking

A test vend is one of the simplest ways to prevent customer complaints.

After loading a product, especially a new package size, make sure it vends correctly.

One successful test can reveal whether the product is positioned and configured correctly.

If you changed the setup of a column, test it more than once.

A few minutes of testing can prevent repeated failed sales later.

Track Your Best-Selling Drinks

Good vending operators use sales information to improve the machine over time.

You do not need to guess which products customers prefer.

Watch what sells.

If one beverage repeatedly sells out first, give it more inventory space when possible.

If another product remains in the machine for weeks, replace it with something customers are more likely to buy.

Product selection should evolve with actual demand.

Consider Cashless Payment for Busy Locations

Because this Royal 550 is listed as credit card capable, operators can consider adding a compatible reader.

Cashless payment may be particularly useful at locations where customers rarely carry cash.

Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle overview

The Royal Vendors 550 is a workhorse cold drink cabinet. Freestyle / Dasani themed graphics support premium water and beverage merchandising when locations want brand-consistent equipment rather than a plain cabinet.

Before purchase, confirm electrical requirements, door graphics condition, refrigeration performance, and whether your payment system (cash, cashless, or both) is compatible with the machine interface.

Install checklist

Level the cabinet, allow refrigeration recovery time after transport, load with the correct package sizes, and test vend every selection. Keep condenser airflow clear and schedule filter/coil cleaning so the 550 stays efficient in warm locations.

Royal Vendors 550 cabinets with Dasani Freestyle graphics are often chosen when a beverage account wants water branding that looks intentional rather than generic. Strong graphics help with location approvals and customer trust, especially in healthcare, education, and corporate campuses.

Evaluate refrigeration health, door seals, interior lighting, and selection accuracy before placing the machine. Freestyle-themed exteriors should be inspected for scratches and panel fit so the brand presentation matches account expectations. Confirm your cashless and telemetry plans if the site requires them.

On install day, allow proper cooldown, load Dasani and companion beverages according to the agreed matrix, and vend-test every column. Keep condenser coils clean after placement — Royal 550 performance depends on airflow as much as on initial refurbishing quality. Vending World can help confirm current machine status and delivery logistics for this Dasani Freestyle 550 listing.

Operators who already run Royal cold drink equipment benefit from shared service knowledge: same family of parts habits, similar controller checks, and familiar cabinet dimensions for truck planning. Choosing a branded 550 can also reduce the need for aftermarket wraps when the account specifically requests Dasani Freestyle appearance.

Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle buyer notes

Request current photos of graphics and interior, confirm refrigeration run status, verify selection count and package capability, and align payment hardware plans with the location contract. Dasani Freestyle branded 550 cabinets are chosen when presentation is part of the sale.

Water and beverage accounts notice cabinet appearance quickly. A clean Freestyle graphic set can reduce the need for expensive wraps and helps the machine look intentional in lobbies and cafeterias. Still, graphics alone do not replace mechanical readiness — refrigeration, door seals, and vend reliability come first.

Schedule delivery with cooldown time before loading product. Train site contacts not to block condenser airflow with stored boxes. Keep a simple weekly wipe-down on the glass and graphic panels so the Dasani branding stays sharp between service visits. Vending World can advise on this Royal Vendors 550 listing’s current condition and shipping timeline.

Compared with generic white cabinets, branded Royal 550 equipment often wins location approvals faster when the account already sells Dasani packages. Use that advantage, then back it up with dependable cold performance and accurate selections.

Royal Vendors 550 Dasani Freestyle equipment works best when operators treat branding and mechanical readiness as one package. Inspect graphics, confirm cold performance, validate selections, and document payment setup before the account walkthrough. Vending World helps operators source refurbished Royal drink machines that are ready for real locations, not unfinished projects.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?

Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability

New vs Refurbished

We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.

According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.

Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:

  • Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
  • Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
  • Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700

(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)

As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.

Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.

Start small and grow as you can afford it.

Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.

All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.

Small mechanical machines have two main problems:

  • They don't make change or accept dollar bills
  • They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff

Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.

A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
