Royal Vendors 660 Cold Drink Chameleon – Refurbished Commercial Beverage Vending Machine

The Royal Vendors 660 Cold Drink Chameleon is a full-size commercial beverage vending machine designed for operators who need high capacity, flexible product choices, and convenient payment options. This refurbished Royal 660 provides the space and configuration needed to serve cold beverages in busy offices, laundromats, apartment communities, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, schools, employee break rooms, and other commercial locations.

With 8 selections and 12 columns, the Royal Vendors 660 gives vending operators room to build a beverage selection around the customers at each location. The machine is listed with a capacity of 660+ 12 oz cans or approximately 300+ 20 oz bottles, depending on the configuration. The current listing also identifies support for other common beverage formats, including 16 oz cans and 16.9 oz bottles.

The Chameleon-style configuration makes this Royal 660 especially useful for vending operators who want the ability to change their beverage mix. A location may have strong demand for bottled water, while another may sell more soda, energy drinks, sports drinks, or iced tea. The Royal 660 provides the flexibility to build a product mix around each account instead of relying on the same selection at every location.

This machine is also listed as a multi-price vending machine. That means different selections can be assigned different prices. This is useful when an operator sells beverages with different wholesale costs or wants to offer a mixture of standard and premium products.

The Royal 660 accepts coins and $1 bills, while its electronics are also described as credit-card capable. A compatible E-Port credit card reader is available as an optional purchase. The reader is not included with the standard machine simply because the machine is credit-card capable, so buyers should select the appropriate payment option when ordering.

Why Choose the Royal Vendors 660 Cold Drink Chameleon?

A commercial beverage vending machine needs to do more than dispense drinks. It needs to hold enough inventory for the location, provide customers with useful product choices, make payment simple, and give the operator practical control over pricing and inventory. The Royal Vendors 660 brings these features together in one full-size vending cabinet.

For vending operators, machine capacity can have a direct effect on route service. Every service visit requires time. The operator may need to travel to the location, unload beverages, refill selections, inspect the machine, clean the customer-facing areas, check payment equipment, and review inventory. A higher-capacity machine can provide more inventory between service visits when the machine and location are properly matched.

The Royal 660 is designed for exactly this type of commercial vending environment. Its large cabinet provides substantial beverage storage, while its 12-column configuration allows operators to dedicate additional capacity to products that sell quickly.

The machine can also be adapted to different accounts. An office may need water, soda, zero-sugar beverages, and energy drinks. A manufacturing facility may need a combination of soda, water, energy drinks, sports drinks, and tea. A laundromat may have customers looking for convenient cold drinks while they wait. An apartment community may benefit from a selection that includes water, soft drinks, and popular ready-to-drink beverages.

The ability to adjust the product mix is one of the most useful aspects of a large commercial beverage machine.

Large 660+ Can Capacity

One of the most important features of the Royal Vendors 660 is its large beverage capacity. The current listing specifies capacity for 660+ 12 oz cans. This provides a substantial amount of product storage inside one machine.

Capacity matters in vending because customer demand is not always evenly distributed throughout the day. A machine located in a busy workplace may experience heavy sales during breaks, lunch periods, shift changes, or other peak times. A machine located in a laundromat may have steady traffic throughout the day. A machine in a warehouse or manufacturing facility may serve employees working several shifts.

A smaller vending machine may require more frequent restocking in these environments. The Royal 660 provides considerably more room for beverage inventory.

The large capacity also gives operators more flexibility when planning a product mix. Instead of carrying only a small number of beverages, the operator can create a selection that includes several brands, flavors, sizes, and beverage categories.

Operators can use the available capacity strategically. Fast-selling products can receive more space, while slower-moving products can receive less. This allows the machine to evolve based on actual sales instead of relying entirely on assumptions made before installation.

300+ 20 oz Bottle Capacity

The Royal Vendors 660 can also be configured for larger bottled beverages. The current product listing identifies a capacity of 300+ 20 oz bottles when configured for that format.

This gives operators another way to match the machine to customer demand. Bottled beverages are common in many vending locations because customers may prefer the convenience of a resealable bottle. Bottled water, sports drinks, energy drinks, flavored beverages, teas, and soft drinks can all be considered when building a product mix.

The actual product configuration should be selected based on the machine setup and the beverages the operator plans to vend. Buyers should confirm the desired configuration and any required adjustments before placing an order.

Having a machine that can support different beverage formats gives vending operators greater flexibility as an account develops. A location may begin with mostly cans and later develop stronger demand for bottles. Being able to adapt the machine can make it easier to respond to changing customer preferences.

Flexible Chameleon Beverage Configuration

The Chameleon configuration is an important part of the Royal Vendors 660. The design is intended to provide a flexible merchandising platform for cold beverages.

Instead of treating the machine as a fixed product display, the operator can build the selections around the products that make sense for the individual location. This makes the Royal 660 useful for operators who service different types of accounts.

For example, an office environment may have strong demand for bottled water, traditional soft drinks, diet or zero-sugar beverages, and energy drinks. A recreation facility may require more water and sports beverages. A warehouse may have strong demand for energy drinks and soda. A residential property may require a broader mixture of everyday beverages.

The operator can adjust the product selection as sales information becomes available.

This flexibility is valuable because customer demand can change. New products can become popular. Seasonal demand can affect beverage sales. A product that sells well in one location may perform poorly in another. A flexible vending machine gives the operator more room to respond.

8 Selections and 12 Columns

The Royal Vendors 660 includes 8 selections and 12 columns. This configuration gives operators a useful balance between customer choice and product capacity.

Eight selections provide room to present multiple beverage choices to customers. The 12-column arrangement provides additional internal capacity that can be assigned according to sales demand.

For example, an operator could dedicate additional columns to popular bottled water or a high-selling soft drink. Another account might require more space for energy drinks. A location with several different customer groups may benefit from a broader selection.

The important point is that the operator does not have to divide every column equally. The available space can be organized around actual product performance.

This can help reduce situations where a high-demand beverage sells out while slower-moving products continue to occupy valuable machine space. Operators can monitor sales and make adjustments during regular service visits.

Multi-Price Vending

The Royal Vendors 660 is equipped for multi-price vending. This feature allows different selections to have different selling prices.

Multi-price operation is useful because beverages do not always have the same wholesale cost. A bottled water product may have a different cost than an energy drink. A premium beverage may have a different cost than a standard soft drink. Different bottle and can formats may also affect product cost.

With multi-price vending, operators have more control over how products are priced.

Pricing should be based on the individual vending location, product cost, customer demand, competition, operating expenses, and the operator's business strategy. There is no single price that works for every vending account.

The Royal 660 provides the equipment flexibility needed to create a varied product mix while maintaining separate prices for different selections.

Coin Acceptance

The Royal Vendors 660 accepts coins as part of its standard payment configuration. Cash payment remains useful in many vending environments, especially locations where customers may carry change.

Coin acceptance provides a familiar purchasing method. Customers can select their beverage, insert the required coins, and complete the purchase through the machine's standard vending interface.

For operators, maintaining a reliable cash payment system can be important when serving a diverse customer base.

$1 Bill Acceptance

The machine is also listed as accepting $1 bills. Bill acceptance makes it easier for customers who do not want to carry exact change.

Cash payment options can be especially useful in locations such as laundromats, break rooms, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other environments where customers may have cash available but may not have a payment card or mobile wallet ready.

The current listing also provides optional payment upgrades for operators who want a higher-capacity bill and coin setup. Buyers can review the available configuration options when ordering.

Credit Card Capable Electronics

Modern vending customers increasingly expect convenient payment options. The Royal Vendors 660 is listed as credit-card capable, giving operators the option to add a compatible cashless payment reader.

It is important to understand what credit-card capable means for this particular listing. The standard machine does not automatically include a credit card reader. Instead, the machine's electronics are new enough to support a compatible reader.

Vending World offers an optional E-Port credit card reader. Depending on the selected configuration, the reader can be supplied for the customer to install or the machine can be held for installation by an outside technician.

Installation arrangements and additional charges should be confirmed before purchase. A card reader installation performed by an outside technician is separate from the vending machine itself.

Adding cashless payment can give customers another way to purchase beverages. This can be useful in locations where many customers do not regularly carry cash.

DEX Protocol Capability

The Royal Vendors 660 is listed with DEX protocol capability. DEX is commonly used in vending operations for electronic data exchange and machine reporting.

DEX capability can become particularly useful as a vending route grows. A single-machine operator may track inventory and sales manually. An operator with several machines may need more structured information from individual machines.

Compatible vending management systems can use machine data to support route management and reporting workflows. The exact functionality depends on the management system, hardware, and setup used by the operator.

Having DEX capability gives the Royal 660 a useful feature for operators who want to build a more organized vending operation.

Refurbished Royal Vendors 660

This Royal Vendors 660 Cold Drink Chameleon is sold as a refurbished vending machine. Refurbished commercial vending equipment can provide an alternative to purchasing brand-new equipment.

For a new vending operator, the initial equipment budget can be an important consideration. Purchasing refurbished equipment may allow more of the available budget to be allocated toward beverage inventory, transportation, location development, payment technology, route expansion, or additional equipment.

Experienced vending operators may also use refurbished machines when expanding an existing route, replacing an older machine, or adding capacity at a location.

As with any refurbished commercial equipment, buyers should review the current condition, configuration, available options, warranty terms, shipping arrangements, and specifications before purchase.

Commercial-Size Beverage Vending Machine

The Royal Vendors 660 is a full-size commercial beverage machine. The current listing provides approximate dimensions of 72 inches high by 37.5 inches wide by 34.5 inches deep. The listed weight is approximately 640 pounds.

Because of the size and weight of this machine, installation planning is important.

Before ordering, measure the location where the machine will be installed. Also measure doorways, hallways, elevators, loading areas, ramps, and other access points along the delivery route.

Make sure the intended location has adequate floor space and appropriate electrical access. Operators should also plan how the machine will be moved from the delivery point to the final installation area.

Proper planning can help avoid delivery problems and make installation easier.

Ideal Locations for the Royal Vendors 660

The Royal Vendors 660 can be used in many different commercial environments where customers regularly purchase cold beverages.

  • Office buildings
  • Employee break rooms
  • Laundromats
  • Apartment communities
  • Schools
  • College and university facilities
  • Manufacturing plants
  • Warehouses
  • Distribution centers
  • Auto dealerships
  • Recreation facilities
  • Hospitality locations
  • Commercial buildings
  • Waiting areas
  • Customer service areas
  • High-traffic workplaces

The best location for any vending machine depends on the individual account. Traffic volume, customer demographics, available beverage alternatives, product preferences, machine visibility, electrical access, security, and restocking access can all affect vending performance.

Royal 660 for Office Buildings

Office buildings can be useful locations for a full-size beverage vending machine. Employees may want cold drinks during breaks, lunch, meetings, or throughout the workday.

The Royal 660 gives operators enough capacity to offer several beverage categories. A typical office product mix could include bottled water, regular soft drinks, zero-sugar beverages, energy drinks, iced tea, and other cold beverages.

Operators can monitor which products sell most often and adjust the machine over time.

Royal 660 for Laundromats

Laundromats can provide another potential application for a beverage vending machine. Customers may spend a significant amount of time at the location while waiting for laundry cycles to finish.

A visible beverage machine can provide convenient access to cold drinks without requiring customers to leave the property.

The large capacity of the Royal 660 can be useful when the location has consistent customer traffic. Operators can stock popular drinks and use the 12-column configuration to provide additional inventory for faster-selling selections.

Royal 660 for Manufacturing Facilities

Manufacturing facilities and warehouses can have employees working long shifts or multiple shifts. A beverage vending machine can provide convenient access to drinks without requiring employees to leave the property.

The Royal 660's capacity can be useful in locations where beverage demand is consistent throughout the day or spread across several shifts.

Operators can build the product mix around employee preferences. Water, soft drinks, energy drinks, sports beverages, and teas can all be considered depending on the account.

Royal 660 for Apartment Communities

Apartment communities can also benefit from convenient beverage vending. A machine placed in an appropriate common area may serve residents, visitors, maintenance personnel, and other people using the property.

The product mix can be tailored to the location. Bottled water, soft drinks, energy drinks, and other cold beverages can provide variety.

Operators should select a secure, visible, and accessible location while confirming the requirements of the property owner or management company.

Build a Better Beverage Product Mix

A successful vending machine is not simply a cabinet filled with random products. Product selection matters.

The Royal Vendors 660 gives operators enough space to create a balanced beverage program. Start by identifying the products customers are most likely to purchase. Then use additional selections to test products and categories that may have growth potential.

A basic product mix might include:

  • Regular soft drinks
  • Zero-sugar soft drinks
  • Bottled water
  • Energy drinks
  • Sports drinks
  • Iced tea
  • Flavored beverages
  • Other popular cold beverages

The exact mix should be based on the location. A fitness facility may sell more water and sports drinks. An industrial workplace may have stronger demand for energy drinks. An office may require a broad combination of water, soda, tea, and other beverages.

Give More Space to Best Sellers

The 12-column configuration allows operators to use available machine space strategically.

Suppose one beverage consistently sells faster than the others. An operator can consider allocating additional column capacity to that product. This can help keep the product available between service visits.

If another product sells slowly, the operator can consider replacing it with a different product.

This process creates a vending machine that evolves with the account.

Sales data and customer feedback can help operators make these decisions. Rather than relying entirely on assumptions, operators can use actual vending performance to guide product selection.

Reduce Unnecessary Restocking Trips

Route efficiency is important in vending. Travel consumes time and fuel, while each service visit requires labor.

A high-capacity machine can help reduce the frequency of restocking when demand and product configuration are appropriate. The Royal 660 can hold more than 660 12 oz cans or more than 300 20 oz bottles, depending on configuration.

This does not mean the machine will never require frequent service. A high-volume account can still sell through inventory quickly. However, the larger storage capacity gives the operator more inventory to work with.

For vending operators managing multiple accounts, matching machine capacity to sales volume can be an important part of route planning.

Energy-Efficient Vending Operation

The Royal Vendors 660 is identified in the current product information as an Energy Star rated machine. Energy efficiency is an important consideration for refrigerated beverage equipment because the machine needs to maintain cold temperatures while operating in a commercial environment.

Electricity is one of the ongoing costs associated with beverage vending. Operators should consider energy consumption along with beverage costs, payment processing, location commissions, transportation, maintenance, repairs, and other operating expenses.

Actual energy use can vary based on operating conditions, ambient temperature, machine condition, refrigeration performance, maintenance, and other factors.

Optional LED Lighting Upgrade

The current Vending World listing provides an optional LED lighting upgrade. Buyers can select an option to replace the machine's fluorescent bulbs with LED bulbs for an additional charge.

LED lighting can provide an updated lighting solution for the machine. Buyers should review the current configuration and pricing at the time of purchase because optional equipment can change the final machine price.

Lighting can also contribute to the customer-facing presentation of the vending machine. A well-lit display can make beverage selections easier to see, particularly in indoor locations with varying levels of ambient light.

Optional Higher-Capacity Payment Equipment

The Royal 660 listing also provides an option to upgrade the bill and coin equipment. This can be useful for operators who expect customers to use larger bills or who want a higher-capacity payment configuration.

The appropriate payment configuration depends on the location and customer base. Operators should consider average transaction values, available change, customer payment preferences, and route service practices when selecting payment equipment.

Cash and Cashless Payment Flexibility

One of the benefits of the Royal 660 is the ability to support traditional cash payment while providing the option to add cashless technology.

The standard configuration accepts coins and $1 bills. The machine's electronics are also listed as credit-card capable, allowing an appropriate reader to be added.

This gives operators the ability to choose a payment setup based on the needs of the location.

A location where customers frequently use cash may not require a cashless reader. A workplace where employees rarely carry cash may benefit from a card reader. Other locations may benefit from offering both options.

Chameleon-Style Merchandising

The Chameleon design is useful for operators who want the visual presentation of the machine to work with the beverage selection.

Product graphics and labels can help customers identify the drinks available in the machine. Vending World also offers flavor strips and beverage merchandising products for different machine configurations.

Clear product identification can make the purchasing process easier. Customers should be able to quickly understand what beverages are available and which selection corresponds with each product.

A clean and organized presentation can also help a machine look professional within an office, commercial building, workplace, or public area.

Easy Product Mix Changes

Vending demand can change over time. A product that performs well in one season may not perform the same way in another. New beverage products can also change customer buying habits.

The Royal 660's flexible configuration gives operators room to adapt their inventory.

Operators can evaluate sales, customer requests, inventory turnover, and product margins. They can then make changes to the selection mix when appropriate.

This makes the Royal 660 a practical platform for operators who want to continually improve the product mix at their accounts.

Maintain a Clean and Professional Machine

Routine cleaning is an important part of vending machine service. Customers interact directly with the front of the machine, payment system, product selections, and delivery area.

Operators should include cleaning and inspection in their normal service routine.

Regular service can include checking the exterior, cleaning customer-facing surfaces, inspecting product delivery areas, checking payment components, reviewing the refrigeration system, and monitoring overall machine operation.

Electrical and refrigeration work should be handled according to appropriate service procedures and by qualified technicians when necessary.

A clean, well-stocked vending machine can also contribute to a more professional appearance at the account.

Plan Your Installation Before Delivery

The Royal Vendors 660 is a large and heavy commercial machine. The listed dimensions are approximately 72 inches high, 37.5 inches wide, and 34.5 inches deep. The listed weight is approximately 640 pounds.

Installation should therefore be planned before the machine arrives.

Measure the final location as well as the path to the location. Check doorway widths, hallway clearances, elevator dimensions, ramps, loading docks, and other potential obstacles.

Consider the location of electrical outlets and make sure the machine will have appropriate access to power.

Operators should also consider how the machine will be moved safely. Commercial vending equipment of this size and weight requires appropriate moving equipment and personnel.

Choose the Right Vending Location

Machine placement can have a major effect on vending performance.

A machine placed where customers rarely pass may not perform as well as a machine positioned near a break room, entrance, employee area, waiting area, or another location with consistent traffic.

Before installing the Royal 660, consider:

  • Number of people using the location
  • Daily traffic patterns
  • Peak traffic times
  • Employee or customer population
  • Existing beverage options
  • Product preferences
  • Visibility of the machine
  • Access for restocking
  • Electrical availability
  • Security
  • Available floor space

The ideal location depends on the individual property and customer base.

Royal 660 for Growing Vending Routes

The Royal Vendors 660 can be useful for operators who are building or expanding a vending route.

New vending operators often need to balance equipment purchases with the cost of inventory, transportation, payment technology, location development, and other startup expenses. Refurbished commercial equipment can provide another option for operators who want full-size machines while managing the initial equipment budget.

Established vending operators can use the Royal 660 to add capacity at a high-volume location or replace a machine that no longer fits the account's needs.

Because the machine provides substantial storage capacity, it can be a practical choice for locations where beverage demand is high enough to justify a full-size commercial machine.

Royal Vendors 660 for New Vending Operators

Someone new to vending may initially focus on machine price. However, the total operating picture is more important than the purchase price alone.

Operators should consider the machine's capacity, payment equipment, location requirements, transportation, inventory costs, service needs, electricity, and expected demand.

A full-size commercial machine can provide significantly more product capacity than a small countertop or mechanical vending machine.

The Royal 660 is designed for commercial beverage vending, making it appropriate for operators who need substantial cold drink capacity.

Before purchasing, new operators should identify a potential location and determine what products customers are likely to purchase. This can help guide the machine configuration and product selection.

Royal Vendors 660 for Experienced Operators

Experienced vending operators may appreciate the Royal 660 for route expansion and location-specific capacity planning.

A high-volume account may justify a machine with more storage. An operator may also need to replace an older beverage machine or standardize equipment across several locations.

The Royal 660's multi-price capability, DEX protocol, cash acceptance, optional cashless payment, and flexible product configuration provide useful tools for commercial vending operations.

Operators can build the machine around the needs of each account and adjust the selection mix as sales data develops.

Product Selection Ideas

The Royal Vendors 660 can support many types of cold beverage programs. Product compatibility should always be confirmed for the exact machine configuration.

Potential product categories include:

  • 12 oz soft drink cans
  • 16 oz beverage cans
  • 20 oz bottled soft drinks
  • 16.9 oz bottled water
  • Sports drinks
  • Energy drinks
  • Iced tea
  • Flavored water
  • Zero-sugar beverages
  • Other ready-to-drink cold beverages

The best selection depends on the account. Operators should focus on products that match customer demand and available product supply.

Use Sales Data to Improve Performance

A vending machine provides an opportunity to learn from customer purchasing behavior.

Operators can track which products sell quickly and which products remain in the machine for longer periods. This information can be used to adjust inventory.

If bottled water consistently sells out before the next service visit, additional capacity may be appropriate. If a particular flavor does not sell, it may make sense to replace it with another product.

This type of ongoing product management can help operators make better use of the Royal 660's 12 columns.

Why Capacity Is Important

Machine capacity is more than a number on a specification sheet. It affects how an operator plans inventory and service.

A machine with greater capacity can hold more products before reaching an empty condition. This can be valuable in locations with consistent traffic.

The Royal 660's listed capacity of more than 660 12 oz cans gives operators substantial room to stock popular beverages. Its listed capacity of more than 300 20 oz bottles provides a large inventory option when configured for bottles.

Actual sales volume will determine how frequently a particular machine needs to be serviced.

Professional Appearance for Commercial Locations

A vending machine is often part of the customer experience at an account. The machine may be located in a break room, lobby, employee area, laundry room, waiting area, or other customer-facing environment.

The Chameleon configuration provides a flexible visual presentation that can be adapted to the beverages stocked in the machine.

Keeping the machine clean, properly lit, stocked, and clearly labeled can help maintain a professional appearance.

Flexible Pricing for Different Beverages

Different beverage products can have different costs. The multi-price functionality of the Royal 660 allows the operator to assign different selling prices to individual selections.

This provides greater flexibility than a machine that requires every product to have the same price.

Operators can determine pricing based on product cost, local market conditions, account requirements, customer demand, and overall business expenses.

Pricing should be reviewed regularly as wholesale costs and product mixes change.

Cashless Vending Option

The option to add a compatible credit card reader can help operators prepare the Royal 660 for modern payment preferences.

The reader is an optional accessory rather than standard equipment. Buyers should choose the appropriate reader option when configuring the machine.

If an outside technician will install the reader, buyers should coordinate installation before shipment and confirm any separate installation cost.

Cashless payment can be particularly useful in workplaces, campuses, offices, apartment communities, and other locations where customers may prefer debit or credit cards.

DEX and Route Management

DEX capability can be useful for operators who want to incorporate machine data into a broader vending management process.

As a route expands, manually tracking every machine can become more difficult. Electronic data can help support more structured reporting when used with compatible equipment and management systems.

The Royal 660's DEX capability provides an option for operators who want to build their equipment around a more organized route management system.

Refurbished Equipment and Budget Planning

Vending operators have many expenses beyond the machine itself. Inventory, transportation, payment processing, repairs, electricity, insurance, location commissions, and other operating costs all affect the overall business.

A refurbished Royal Vendors 660 can provide an opportunity to acquire full-size commercial vending equipment while keeping equipment acquisition separate from the cost of purchasing new equipment.

Buyers should review the exact condition, warranty, options, and configuration of the machine before completing a purchase.

What Makes the Royal 660 a Commercial Vending Solution?

The Royal Vendors 660 combines several features that matter to commercial vending operators. It offers substantial product capacity, multiple selections, multiple columns, multi-price operation, cash payment, optional cashless payment, and DEX capability.

Its full-size design makes it appropriate for locations that need more beverage capacity than a small vending machine can provide.

The machine can also be configured around different customer preferences. Operators can stock cans or bottles and build the selection around the location.

This combination of capacity and flexibility makes the Royal 660 a versatile platform for cold beverage vending.

Plan Your First Fill

When placing a Royal 660 into a new account, operators should plan the initial product mix carefully.

Start with products that are likely to have broad customer appeal. Then use sales results to determine which products deserve additional capacity.

Do not assume every location will have the same demand. Customer preferences can vary significantly between offices, warehouses, schools, laundromats, apartment communities, and manufacturing facilities.

The Royal 660 gives operators enough capacity to test different products while maintaining a substantial inventory.

Keep the Machine Stocked

A vending machine can only sell the products that are available. Maintaining inventory is therefore an important part of route management.

The Royal 660's large capacity gives operators a strong starting point, but inventory should still be checked during routine service.

Fast-moving products may require more frequent replenishment than slower products. Operators should monitor individual selections and adjust service schedules as needed.

Benefits of a Large Beverage Cabinet

  • Large product storage capacity
  • More room for beverage variety
  • Eight customer selections
  • Twelve internal columns
  • Support for multiple beverage formats
  • 660+ 12 oz can capacity
  • 300+ 20 oz bottle capacity
  • Multi-price operation
  • Coin acceptance
  • $1 bill acceptance
  • Optional higher-capacity payment equipment
  • Credit-card-capable electronics
  • Optional E-Port card reader
  • DEX protocol capability
  • Optional LED lighting upgrade
  • Refurbished commercial equipment

Consider the Total Cost of Ownership

When evaluating a vending machine, the purchase price is only one part of the decision. Operators should also consider transportation, installation, inventory, electricity, maintenance, payment processing, repairs, insurance, and location-related costs.

A machine with substantial capacity can be useful when it is placed in a location that can support that capacity. The operator should evaluate expected beverage demand before deciding which machine configuration makes sense.

The Royal 660 is designed for commercial applications where substantial cold drink inventory may be needed.

Maintenance Planning

Regular maintenance can help keep commercial vending equipment operating properly. Operators should establish a service routine appropriate for the machine and location.

Routine checks may include:

  • Cleaning the exterior
  • Cleaning customer-facing surfaces
  • Checking product delivery
  • Checking payment equipment
  • Reviewing inventory
  • Inspecting the refrigeration system
  • Checking machine lighting
  • Inspecting selections
  • Checking product labels and graphics
  • Reviewing general machine condition

Electrical, refrigeration, and other technical repairs should be performed using appropriate procedures and by qualified technicians when necessary.

Prepare for Delivery

Because the Royal Vendors 660 is approximately 640 pounds and more than six feet tall, delivery planning should not be overlooked.

Measure the route from the delivery point to the final location. Make sure there is adequate clearance through doors and hallways.

If an elevator is involved, verify its capacity and dimensions. If stairs or ramps are involved, plan for appropriate commercial moving equipment and personnel.

Preparing these details before shipment can help reduce installation delays.

Royal Vendors 660 for High-Traffic Accounts

High-traffic accounts can benefit from machines with substantial inventory capacity. The Royal 660 is designed as a full-size commercial beverage machine and provides room for a large product inventory.

Potential high-traffic applications include employee break rooms, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, schools, apartment communities, laundromats, offices, and commercial buildings.

Operators should evaluate each location individually. High traffic does not automatically guarantee high vending sales. Product demand, machine placement, customer preferences, pricing, competing beverage options, and accessibility all matter.

Adapt the Machine to the Account

One of the biggest advantages of a flexible beverage machine is the ability to adapt the inventory to the account.

The same Royal 660 can be configured differently for different locations.

An office might use selections for water, soda, zero-sugar drinks, and energy beverages. A warehouse might emphasize water and energy drinks. A laundromat might focus on popular soft drinks and bottled beverages. A recreation facility might use more water and sports drinks.

The operator can use customer feedback and sales information to refine the product mix.

Long-Term Vending Flexibility

Vending equipment should ideally support the operator's business as the account changes. Beverage preferences are not fixed.

The Royal 660 provides room for product changes through its flexible can and bottle configuration, 8 selections, 12 columns, and multi-price capability.

Operators can test products, review sales, and make changes as needed.

This makes the machine suitable for operators who want a flexible commercial beverage platform rather than a machine designed around only one beverage format.

Why Full-Size Commercial Equipment Matters

Small vending machines can be useful for limited applications, but locations with significant beverage demand may need a larger commercial cabinet.

The Royal 660 is designed to provide substantially more inventory capacity than small vending equipment. Its 660+ can capacity and 300+ bottle capacity give operators room to serve a larger customer base from one machine.

A full-size commercial machine can also provide a stronger physical presence in a high-traffic location.

A Practical Beverage Vending Platform

The Royal Vendors 660 Cold Drink Chameleon brings together capacity, flexibility, payment options, and commercial vending features in one refurbished machine.

Its 8 selections and 12 columns provide room for multiple beverages and additional capacity for popular products. Its large inventory capacity can help support locations with consistent beverage demand. Its multi-price operation provides pricing flexibility, while coin and bill acceptance give customers traditional cash payment options.

The machine's credit-card-capable electronics also allow an operator to consider adding a compatible E-Port reader.

DEX capability provides another useful feature for operators who want electronic vending data as part of their route management workflow.

Important Information About Credit Card Capability

Customers should understand that credit-card capable does not mean a credit card reader is included with the standard machine.

The machine's electronics are new enough to accept a compatible reader, and Vending World provides an optional E-Port reader configuration. Buyers should select the desired reader option when ordering if cashless payment is required.

Installation may require an outside technician, and installation costs can be separate from the vending machine purchase.

Important Information About Machine Configuration

Capacity and product compatibility can depend on the selected configuration. The current listing identifies 660+ 12 oz cans and 300+ 20 oz bottles, while also describing flexibility for other beverage formats.

Before ordering, buyers should confirm the desired can or bottle configuration and any required setup options.

Optional equipment can also affect the final configuration and purchase price.

Refurbished Machine Warranty

Vending World identifies a 90-day limited parts warranty on refurbished vending machines. Buyers should review the current warranty terms and coverage before purchase because warranty conditions and policies may apply.

Understanding warranty coverage is an important part of purchasing refurbished commercial equipment.

Final Summary

The Royal Vendors 660 Cold Drink Chameleon is a full-size refurbished beverage vending machine designed for operators who need high product capacity and flexible cold drink vending.

With 8 selections and 12 columns, the Royal 660 provides space for a varied beverage selection while allowing operators to dedicate additional capacity to best-selling products. The listed capacity of 660+ 12 oz cans or 300+ 20 oz bottles makes the machine suitable for accounts where regular beverage demand requires more inventory than a small vending machine can provide.

The Chameleon configuration allows the machine to work with different beverage formats and gives operators greater flexibility when building product selections. Depending on the configuration, the machine can support cans and bottles, including common 12 oz, 16 oz, 16.9 oz, and 20 oz beverage formats.

Multi-price operation provides control over individual product pricing. Coin and $1 bill acceptance provide traditional payment options. Credit-card-capable electronics allow an optional compatible E-Port reader to be added when cashless payment is desired.

The Royal 660 is also equipped with DEX protocol capability, giving operators the potential to incorporate electronic machine data into compatible vending management workflows.

Optional upgrades listed for this machine include higher-capacity bill and coin equipment, an E-Port credit card reader, and LED lighting.

As a refurbished commercial vending machine, the Royal 660 can be considered by both new and experienced vending operators. It can be used to start a vending route, add capacity to an existing account, replace older beverage equipment, or expand a commercial beverage program.

Potential locations include offices, laundromats, apartment communities, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, schools, campuses, employee break rooms, recreation facilities, hospitality locations, and other commercial environments where customers regularly purchase cold beverages.

Before purchasing, operators should carefully evaluate the intended location, expected sales volume, available floor space, electrical access, delivery path, product preferences, payment needs, and restocking requirements.

When matched with the right location and product mix, the Royal Vendors 660 Cold Drink Chameleon provides a flexible commercial platform for vending a wide range of cold beverages. Its large capacity, multiple selections, multiple columns, multi-price operation, cash acceptance, optional cashless payment, DEX capability, and adaptable beverage configuration make it a practical choice for vending operators looking for substantial cold drink capacity.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?

Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability

New vs Refurbished

We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.

According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.

Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:

  • Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
  • Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
  • Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700

(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)

As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.

Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.

Start small and grow as you can afford it.

Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.

All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.

Small mechanical machines have two main problems:

  • They don't make change or accept dollar bills
  • They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff

Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.

A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
