Dixie Narco BevMax 5591 Bottle & Can Beverage Machine
The Dixie Narco BevMax 5591 Bottle & Can Beverage Machine is a commercial-grade cold drink vending machine designed for locations that need a large selection of beverages. With up to 45 selections, a glass-front design, multi-price programming, and support for both cans and bottles, this machine gives vending operators a flexible way to offer popular cold drinks.
This refurbished Dixie Narco 5591 is built for vending routes, workplaces, apartment communities, schools, hotels, retail locations, and other high-traffic indoor locations. Its large product capacity can reduce the number of times an operator needs to restock the machine. The machine can vend standard 12 oz cans, 16 oz cans such as many energy drinks, and 16.9 oz and 20 oz bottles when properly configured.
Large Beverage Selection
The BevMax 5591 provides up to 45 drink selections. The machine uses five trays with nine columns per tray in the 45-selection configuration. This gives operators room to offer a broad mix of beverages in one machine.
You can dedicate selections to different brands, package sizes, or beverage categories. For example, a location could offer bottled water, soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, and flavored beverages in the same machine.

- Supports many 16 oz cans
- Supports 16.9 oz and 20 oz bottles

Designed for Cans and Bottles
One of the key benefits of the Dixie Narco 5591 is its flexible product configuration. The machine is designed to vend several common beverage package sizes. This includes 12 oz cans, 16 oz cans, 16.9 oz bottles, and 20 oz bottles.
Proper product setup is important. Dixie Narco BevMax machines use shims to help accommodate different can and bottle diameters. Vending World notes that standard vending-size cans and bottles can vary in diameter, so operators should verify product dimensions and shim requirements before stocking unusual beverage packages.
The 5591 is known for its broad shim options. This allows operators to configure the machine for different packaged drinks. A mix of common shims is included with machines sold by Vending World, while additional or specialty shims can be purchased separately when needed.
Glass Front Live Display
The glass front makes the beverages easy for customers to see before making a selection. Product visibility is an important part of beverage vending because customers can quickly identify the drinks they want.
The live display design also gives the machine a professional commercial appearance. When stocked with colorful beverage labels and bottles, the glass-front cabinet can create a strong visual presence in a vending location.
Multi-Price Vending
The Dixie Narco BevMax 5591 supports multi-price vending. This allows different selections to be programmed at different prices. Operators can set pricing based on the cost and size of individual products.
According to the listed specifications, the machine supports pricing from $0.05 to $99.95. This gives operators flexibility when setting prices for different beverage categories.
Multi-price capability is useful when one machine carries products with different wholesale costs. A lower-cost bottled water selection can have one price, while premium energy drinks or larger bottles can have another.
Cash Payment System
This refurbished 5591 includes a rebuilt MDB coin acceptor and rebuilt MDB dollar bill acceptor. The machine is designed to accept coins and $1 and $5 bills, giving customers several traditional payment options.
The machine also has credit-card capability. This means the electronics are new enough to accept a compatible cashless payment reader. However, a credit card reader is not included with the machine. Installation of a cashless reader may require an additional component and installation service.
MDB and DEX Compatibility
The Dixie Narco 5591 uses MDB protocol for its coin changer and bill acceptor. MDB compatibility is commonly used in commercial vending equipment and provides a standardized way for payment components to communicate with the machine.
The machine is also listed with DEX protocol. DEX can be useful for vending operators who use compatible systems to collect machine sales and operational data.
Refurbished for Vending Operations
This is a refurbished Dixie Narco 5591, not a small countertop or consumer vending machine. Vending World describes its refurbishment process as including cleaning the machine inside and outside, sanding and painting, installing rebuilt payment components, adding new front graphics, and performing a final operational checkout.
The machine also includes a lock and two keys. New front graphics give the cabinet a refreshed appearance and help prepare the machine for use on a vending route.
Because this is refurbished equipment, the actual machine may have cosmetic differences from the product image. The equipment is used commercial vending equipment that has been reconditioned for continued operation.
Heavy-Duty Commercial Construction
The Dixie Narco 5591 features heavy-duty welded all-steel construction. This type of construction is designed for commercial vending environments where machines need to withstand regular customer use and frequent operator servicing.
The machine is also equipped with an anti-theft locking system. A secure cabinet is important for vending operators because the machine may be installed in a public or semi-public location.
High Product Capacity
The 5591 offers substantial beverage storage. Vending World lists the machine at approximately 360 to 405 products for the configuration shown on the product page, while the specifications also indicate that capacity depends on package size and configuration. The page lists capacity of more than 471 12 oz cans for the model.
A large capacity can be helpful in busy locations. Operators can stock more beverages during each service visit and potentially spend less time making frequent refill trips.
Machine Dimensions and Electrical Specifications
The listed 45-selection configuration measures approximately 72 inches high by 43 inches wide by 32 inches deep. The listed product weight is approximately 727 pounds. Vending World also lists 120 VAC at 15 amps for this configuration.

Ideal for High-Traffic Locations
The Dixie Narco BevMax 5591 is suited to vending operators who need more beverage capacity and product variety than a small machine can provide. Its multiple selections make it possible to build a beverage lineup around the preferences of a specific location.
Potential vending locations include offices, warehouses, apartment buildings, manufacturing facilities, hotels, schools, break rooms, employee areas, and other indoor commercial spaces where cold beverages are in demand.
Before purchasing, operators should confirm that the intended location has enough floor space, appropriate electrical service, and sufficient access for delivery and installation. The 5591 is a large commercial machine, so planning for transportation and placement is important.
Why Choose the Dixie Narco 5591?
The Dixie Narco BevMax 5591 combines large capacity, product flexibility, multiple pricing, traditional cash payments, MDB electronics, DEX capability, and a glass-front presentation. These features make it a practical option for operators who want a full-size beverage machine for a commercial vending route.
The machine's ability to handle multiple beverage package sizes is another major advantage. With the correct shims and product setup, operators can stock different types of drinks instead of limiting the machine to one package format.
Refurbished Beverage Machine for Your Vending Route
A refurbished Dixie Narco BevMax 5591 can provide a commercial vending operator with a large-format beverage machine without requiring the purchase of new equipment. Vending World states that its machines receive a cleaning and refurbishment process, rebuilt payment components, new graphics, and a final checkout before sale.
The machine is also backed by Vending World's listed 90-day limited parts warranty. Operators should review the warranty terms and machine information before ordering.
If you need a versatile commercial drink vending machine with numerous selections, substantial capacity, and support for both cans and bottles, the Dixie Narco BevMax 5591 Bottle & Can Beverage Machine is designed to meet the demands of busy vending locations. Its large selection capacity, multi-price controls, cash payment system, glass front, and flexible product configuration make it a strong fit for operators building or expanding a commercial beverage vending route.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
