Large Beverage Capacity for Busy Locations
One of the main benefits of the Royal Vendors 550 is its large beverage capacity. The machine is listed with space for more than 540 12 oz cans. It can also hold approximately 240 20 oz bottles when configured for that package size.
A larger machine can be useful in locations with steady customer traffic. Operators can stock more drinks at one time. This may help reduce the number of service trips needed to keep the machine full.
The 10-column layout also gives vending operators room to organize their beverage selection. Popular drinks can receive more space, while other columns can be used for additional brands, flavors, or package sizes.
Flexible Beverage Options
The Royal 550 is designed to handle a variety of beverage packages. The product listing notes compatibility with 12 oz cans, 16 oz cans, 16.9 oz bottles, and 20 oz bottles. This gives operators flexibility when building their product mix.
Being able to offer different package sizes can make it easier to match products with customer demand. For example, smaller cans can be stocked alongside larger bottles when a location has customers with different beverage preferences.
Operators can also adjust their product mix over time. If one beverage sells faster than another, the available columns can be used to provide additional inventory for higher-demand products.
Coke Chameleon Graphics
The Coke Chameleon graphics give this Royal Vendors 550 a branded appearance that is well suited to beverage vending locations. Strong exterior graphics can make a vending machine easier to notice in a busy environment.
The graphics can also help create a clear connection between the machine and the beverages being sold. This makes the Royal 550 a useful choice for locations where appearance and product presentation are important parts of the vending setup.
Cash and Cashless Payment Capability
The Royal Vendors 550 accepts coins and $1 bills. This provides a familiar payment option for customers who prefer to pay with cash.
The machine is also listed as credit card capable. This means the machine's electronics are new enough to support a compatible credit card reader. However, a credit card reader is not included with the machine unless selected as an additional option.
Vending World lists an E-Port credit card reader option for this machine. Operators can choose to have the reader packed inside the machine for self-installation or have an outside technician install it. Installation by an outside technician is an additional service and is not included in the listed reader price.
Multi-Price Vending
The Royal Model 550 uses a multi-price vending system. This allows operators to set different prices for different selections. Flexible pricing can be useful when products have different wholesale costs or when an operator wants to offer a mix of standard and premium beverages.
Different pricing can also help operators build a more flexible product strategy. For example, lower-cost beverages can be placed alongside larger or specialty drinks with different prices.
DEX Protocol Support
The Royal Vendors 550 supports DEX protocol. DEX is commonly used in vending operations to collect machine sales and accounting information electronically.
For vending operators, electronic sales data can make route management and machine tracking easier. DEX support can also be useful for operators who manage multiple vending machines and want a more organized way to review machine information.
Refurbished Royal Vendors 550
This Royal 550 is listed as a refurbished vending machine. A refurbished machine can be an option for operators who want a full-size commercial beverage machine without purchasing a new unit.
Refurbished equipment can also be useful when expanding an existing vending route. The Royal 550 provides the large capacity and commercial format needed for many beverage vending applications.
As with any refurbished vending machine, operators should review the current product specifications, available options, condition details, and warranty information before ordering.
Ideal Locations for the Royal 550
The Royal Vendors 550 can fit a wide range of commercial and public locations. Its large beverage capacity makes it especially useful where customers regularly purchase cold drinks.
- Office buildings: Provide employees with convenient beverage access.
- Warehouses: Offer drinks to employees during work breaks.
- Laundromats: Give customers beverage options while they wait.
- Gyms: Provide convenient drinks for members and visitors.

Designed for Vending Route Efficiency
Machine capacity matters when managing a vending route. A machine that can hold a large inventory may require fewer restocking visits than a smaller machine in a similar location.
The Royal 550 offers more than 540 12 oz cans according to the product specifications. Its 10-column design gives operators additional room to organize their beverage inventory.
This can make the machine a practical choice for high-demand locations. Operators can monitor sales, identify popular products, and adjust inventory based on actual customer demand.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned ones. We no longer sell new, for one main reason.
According to a recent survey of vending operators, about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts don't generate enough revenue to justify the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts.
Typical pricing on new "commercial grade" machines:
- Can drink machines: $6,200–$7,400
- Snack machines: $6,600–$8,500
- Cold food machines: $8,900–$11,700
(Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing not including sales tax or shipping in some cases.)
As you can see, that's quite high compared to used or refurbished equipment.
Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge, and that can hurt them financially if they're not careful.
All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months.
Small mechanical machines have two main problems:
- They don't make change or accept dollar bills
- They "work you to death" — frequent refills for very little payoff
Most hold under 100 products and gross only $40–$50 per full restock, and profit is less than half of that.
A full-size commercial machine, by contrast, usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250–$500. Since you spend most of your time just driving to the location, you might as well fill 500 products instead of 50.
